Interesting comparisons

Post by Brandy »

I was off looking at another forum Legwear as Unisex Fashion (LAUF) and came across this thread; http://forums.delphiforums.com/LegwearU ... ing+%3E%3E Reporting the non-event of wearing pantyhose with shorts in public.

There many such threads on this forum, there are also many threads on SO not being supportive, men who wear PH in stealth mode - hidden no one knows, etc. There seems to also be a large number of SO who are supportive and it's just another article of clothing, which they can sometimes borrow from. There seems to be a bit of a fetish group also. The forum is heavily monitored and the fetish stuff is deleted quickly they also have low threshold for men in skirts only minor mention of UK's allowed.

There is another forum http://www.hhplace.org/ that is much more open. Their fetish is men in High Heels here Pantyhose and Skirts are fashion accessories to show off the shoes. There was a survey done a few months ago asking sexual orientation something like 95%+ said straight-8 and so are their wives and SO’s. There are a few women on this forum but their numbers are dwindling as this forum is fairly open and the wacko’s do not treat the women very well. Many men here wear heels daily at work under jeans and trousers, many wear PH or knee highs to go with the heels without giving it a second thought. Some still have not gotten out of the house. When they do it’s a big deal even going to the gas station.

So a few weeks ago I was talking to a Lady friend about various things. She knows about the UK/Skirt wearing and does not care. She also knows I have other leg and back problems, I mentioned the use of support hose. Later I sent her links to LAUF, Comfilon, and Legluxe. She wrote back it was nice that men have their PH!

The points here are;
* I would send her to Skirtcafe and LAUF because the forums are “clean” and I would not expect her to find offensive material.
* No matter what choice of alternate clothing men wear there is seems always to be the fear factor of acceptance. For the most part in the western world this is over stated.
* For those men with SO I have heard a lot of references to women accepting the idea of alternate fashion choices for men – EXCEPT for THEIR man. This appears to be more of a fear of acceptance in “her” circle of friends.
* I am greatful for the Ladies we have on this forum who not only support their SO but have the self confidence in themselves to be able to encourage their SO and other men to express themselves in their clothing choices.

Oh Brandy, thanks for reminding me about HHP. A while back I would read there occasionally and I think it is time I became a poster. I miss arguing. :D

Reading over at HHP today I realized a major difference in style from the cafe is that HHP is first and foremost a high heel for anybody site with subsections for heeled men issues or heeled women but also shared topics that would apply to anyone in heels. I am wondering if that approach is available somewhere for skirts as well. At the cafe we are talking to the converted or at least someone interested enough in the topic to seek the site out. When female approval is a factor in getting skirts accepted on men it makes sense to intentionally reach out to that audience.
