Is this an expensive kilt?
I figured we haven't had enough traffic in the Kilts section of the Cafe, so here's something:
From a link at alt.sewing, I ran across a BBC story about a line of kilts that may be beyond some Cafe members' budgets: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scot ... 610309.stm

I would have to win the lottery to be able to afford one of these kilts
I don't think it will happen in the near or distant future

Hey, no problem. The exchange rate has improved quite a bit, should be about the same to US buyers as a pair of jeans from Wal-Mart!

Re: Is this an expensive kilt?
Is that in pounds or euro dollars? I don't know which sign is which. Having not seen many pounds and no euros in my life down here in Paradise. If it's pounds, having watched the World Series Of Poker, Europe version at the Empire Casino in London on ESPN late night programming on the telly, the pounds seem to be about 2 and a quarter dollars for one pound. The winning purse for the main event is approx 835,000 pounds and they are referring that to being about 1.8 million dollars. Which, to me, seems like about what I said above.
That's a reeeeeeeally expensive kilt. But I expect millionaires and movie stars would buy it. Just what Sean Connery needs in his tartan.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

That is the fraightfully Briddish POUND, Skip and, at that price, I could buy a very serviceable secondhand car, put a deposit on a house or buy a whole lot of fancy clothing! What a life if one could lay out about $14000aud without feeling pain

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
