Having not seen my thread for so long I might as well drop a post on it. Burgandy T-shirt, khaki cotton twill knee length skirt, home made thigh highs, (cut the legs off tights that didn't fit my waist) and leather loafers.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

To walk the dog; I wore a t shirt (black) with my just above the knee beige cargo skirt (see my thread in the pictures forum area) and lightweight walking boots. Picked up a few items of shopping on the way and spoke with a number of folks around the store. No one seemed to even notice the skirt.
This skirt seems to be even more invisible than denim; none of the twenty or so groups of people I met while walking noticed it either. I'm starting to think I should wear something more visible, this skirt is pretty lousy as a form of advocacy...
Have fun,
Ian.

No skirt today.
This will be my first wearing of the American Apparel pants that I got with the not so pleasant name, so I shall call them slim pants. With them I have suntan hose (control top), men's black dress shoes, and a dark red sweater.
Having a group gathering at my house today. Should be fun.

Well the day's activities are done, all had fun.
The pants did not draw that much attention, in fact they drew none. No comments, which always makes me a wee nervous.
Here a couple of examples of my getup for today.

purple T-shirt, Grape colored scrubs skirt, (one of the 6 new scrubs skirts I gave myself for x-mas) a new half slip I bought with the skirts, chocolate colored legs I cut from tights that go from my knees down and covering my feet, leather loafer shoes.

Re: What are we wearing as we post, part deux
Today I am wearing a skirted outfit that I plan on wearing out and about.
Items worn from inner to out.
Black sheer comfilon hose, regular men's undershirt (it was cold), mens very light blue dress shirt, long sleeved, black "pleather" skirt with side slit, gray sweater, mens slip on dress shoes.
When taking the pictures I noticed that the combination of the dress shirt, under shirt, and sweater created a very unpleasing "paunch" just above the belt. I did not like this at all, but decided to leave the shirt alone for now.
Here are two photos. Feedback and criticism would be most appreciated.

You're dead on about the "paunch" effect being unattractive, and worse, the layering and possibly interaction with the belt is causing the upper garments to fit very poorly (the extra wrinkles are evidence of this). How does it look if you don't have the belt atop the sweater?Pythos wrote:Here are two photos. Feedback and criticism would be most appreciated.
The skirt is pretty cool; I wish I had the nerve to show that much leg! You pull it off well, and the hat makes for an interesting topper. The shoes seem at odds with the rest of the look, but at the moment I can't come up with any meaningful (much less useful) suggestions to mitigate that.

Hi Pyhtos,
I like both of your outfits.
The pairing of chunky sweaters and slim pants (or leggings) is a classic combination and very flattering on folks who have the physique to pull it off, and you do.
The second outfit is great. I like the combo of the slim kirt with the side split and the cap. It gives a certain "devil may care" look and you wear it well.
Skip,
I didn't know that there were scrubs skirts! Thanks for enlightening me!

Re: What are we wearing as we post, part deux
As I compose this, I'm wearing what was supposed to be an "out and about" rig: a dark red dress shirt, dark blue waistcoat, red velvet skirt, ivory opaque legwear, and black dress shoes. Actually, it was an "out and about" rig if one can count a visit to the local butcher's shop as as "out and about"; we were supposed to go get lunch, but following the visit to the butcher to pick up the Solstice Roast and a visit to the local apothecary's for Sapphire, the decision was undertaken to go straight home due to the condition of the local roads. (Which was OK because our "local establishment" was closed due to the rotten weather!)

In fashion the effect is called "blousing" and is at times intentional. Done right, it can be attractive.

I am favourably surprised, Pythos, about how these two outfits work for you, both the slim trousers and the skirt with the high slit, but both do look really right on you.
Nothing exciting for me today to take the wife out to the shops, and which I am still wearing now I am back home. Weather was cold and was forecast to get wet and windy, so just wearing a plain denim skirt, the hem of which just brushes the top of my matching kilt hose.

Yep, elastic waist all around, 2 side seam pockets big enough to put a large fist in, straight to the hem which is 25" from waist, waist and hemline are same circumference aka "straight" with 6" slit in rear.Sapphire said: Skip,

Today I'm wearing a Royal Blue one with new black underskirt(half slip) 1" shorter than the skirt. Aquamarine long sleeved T-shirt, Chocolate brown opaque tights, leather loafers.
Here's a picture of the first scrubs skirt I bought about 2 mo. ago. It's white but the same shape/length as all the new ones.

Nice one, Pythos. There's a hint of the Rembrandt about you(!) with that hat, but of course that just reminds people that men did wear such combinations in the past! It works.

My new Midas cargo skirt, collected today now I'm home. Length standing is good but it seems short when I sit, but no shorter than shorts I suppose. I like it... No photos yet cuz its dark!
