Midas: Skirts for men
Does anyone know if there is a problem with Midas? I emailled them two weeks ago because I want to order a skirt and it needs to be a custom size, because I am. There hasn't been a reply yet and I don't like repeatedly sending emails because that can upset people if there is a genuine reason for none-response.
I hope they haven't suffered from terminal recession!

Hi B&B,
I assume that you've tried calling them? (Telephone +44 (0)161 613 0058 or Fax +44 (0)161 613 0058).
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Midas: Skirts for men
I've been a regular customer of Midas - currently have two box pleat skirts, two denim skirts and a leisure kilt from their range of products, and am currently awaiting from them a Trojan skirt in surgery denim. I've had a few anxious moments as sometimes things have taken a few weeks to arrive with no communication, but so far all has come good in the fullness of time. On this occasion I have received e-mail confirmation dated 12th November that they had received my order. As suggested above, a telephone call might be more successful than e-mail.

Sitrep: Midas,
Apologies to those awefully nice people at Midas. They had replied, but the binary spiders in Yahoo Mail had condemned the email to exile as spam. It's a good job I occasionaly see what Yahoo is binning. It is a good spam filter, but over-enthusiastic, still sometimes an email will escape it's grasp!
Anyhoo, (horrible corrupted word if'n ever there was one) I have just ordered my first Midas skirt, the blue cargo denim, now that they do size fat, i.e. my size, once I slim back down to 44" anyway. I think it will be tight to start with and I look forward to a distant future were it might even be loose on me. Three more weeks of hotel food then home via Gretna and hopefully a Skirtcafe meet somewhere round there, followed by a year of healthy eating.

Excellent news, looking forward to seeing the pics once you get your new cargo denim.
If we manage to achieve a meet at Gretna I may wear mine that day, have worn it to Gretna two or three times previously.

You can avoid this problem by adding them to your Yahoo contacts. Yahoo treats contacts as "not spam"

There's always AOL and it's free. Much better email and spam filters. I wouldn't use anything else. Chat rooms, todays news..etc etc etc
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

And there is also Google mail (GMail), which I find to be quite good in that respect (probably 98-99% accurate).Since1982 wrote:There's always AOL and it's free. Much better email and spam filters. I wouldn't use anything else. Chat rooms, todays news..etc etc etc

The good folks over at Midas should consider reworking their copy so it doesn't get bagged in filters.
Being an untrusting soul, I do all of Sapphire's and my mail filtering on our own equipment using processes I control or, in some cases, helped create. The results are really very good, but it;s not for everybody.

Re: Midas: Skirts for men
My memories of AOL are of something harder to get rid of than most viruses. I lost count of the amount of people who stuck the unassuming CD into their PC to discover that it took over browser and everything else it felt like, then refused to uninstall cleanly. OK that was quite a few years ago, but I will never use AOL for that reason, same as I am sick of people using Norton, it just gets in the way when you need to fault find. On the whole I like Yahoo and would rather have an over-enthusiastic spam filter than one which lets spam through. Luckily I am almost spam free so when I check in the spam bucket there is only ever the occasional message in it.
I also use hotmail but I don't like it much, it doesn't do the POP3 thing so I can't use it with Outlook. I haven't set up Google mail yet, can you POP3 with that one?
For the anti virus thingubby I am using McAffee which seems very effective without being obtrusive.
I was going to ask a browser question but this is the wrong thread for that sort of thing, he said in his long denim combat skirt, I will find a more appropriate area for that question....
