Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

Who said that? Not me, some of the nicest men I've known in my life were crossdressers or transvestites on Fort Lauderdale beach when I was a young man. It was interesting to me to see them in all their finery, and against their wishes I never wanted to join them, just be friends with them. In fact, the first time I let my hair grow out they all wanted to "fix" it for me. I even let them one time, I didn't like the look or stiff feel of it so I washed it out as soon as I left their apt. They have their right to exist as they please just the same as I do. I just don't want to look like them or wear what they wore. They looked extremely feminine, as they wanted to, as I don't want to.
I have no bad feelings against anyone that wants to dress completely fem, I just don't think that look is good for the "men in skirts or/and kilts" look or our hope for acceptance in society in general as men wearing skirts or kilts in a masculine way. I didn't bring it to this forum.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I agree with AMM's summation of this thread. We've beaten this horse to death repeatedly and no one has ever changed their mind! Face it, there aren't two men on this site who would agree where the masculine/feminine line should be drawn or whether a line should be drawn at all.
You guys remind me of Matthau and Lemmon in Grumpy Old Men; you nag each other to the brink of insanity but you feed on each other's company/opinions just to stave off boredom!

Well typical stuff from some members here. Call me a crossdresser but I like a male name and male physics just do not like to link fashion with gender, as women have the freedom not to link it. If dear since19... whatsover is so hard for you to comprehend that I am not going to explain it further,I do not consider myself presila the queen of the desert and I stand for the rights of men.I do not have typical for women behaviour and do not pass for a woman, just try to expand male wardrobe options. What is worse a man in a skirt is generally considered a crossdresser unless is kilted no matter how ardent defends the visual so called "manliness".Probably I am the first transvestite with long beard, deep growling voice and 40 sm byceps, no wig, no boobs, no hips and so on - thank for "enlightening" me that I do not fight for men having equal fashion rights with women and all I do is just spread transvesty. That was ironic for those who do not get it.
