Grocery store today

Post by Since1982 »

Out buying groceries earlier in straight dark blue twill skirt, light green T-shirt, brown leather loafers. No one ever says anything anymore as I've been wearing skirts and no trousers for 3 years now and the only way I might get a comment is if I "didn't" wear a skirt. 8)

This is an account of the week away. I left here (Armidale N.S.W.) at 7am in a hard frost minus 8 c. Wore a denim cargo skirt and long underpants under that!! 400 kilometres later I was doing a yoga act removing the underwear in the car before going to a country store cafe at a small village called Ma Ma Creek in 26 c heat. (Note, not even the best yogi can remove underpants without first removing the trousers! ) I made it to the beach at Caloundra by late afternoon and changed into a sarong and T shirt. The few days at the beach saw a choice of light drill cargo skirt and sarong. The trip home was a three day affair in an olive "Old navy" cargo. We stopped in Crows Nest and went house hunting- the most positive reaction was from a farmer in a cafe where we we were having breakfast who, when we were discussing my clothing choices, replied to my not caring what others may think " and if they say anything they should wathch the libel laws" The only reaction out of the ordinary was the greeting "shalom" from an elderly man and thet was due to my T shirt with the Israel Navy emblem and large Hebrew graphics.

Luvverly and warm here tonight in Mancy, just got in after a night on the town - T shirt, camoflauge skirt, trainers and sox. Seemed to be appreciated on the train home, judging by the girl that curled up between my legs (you had to be there...)!

Carl Wears Lace!

Post by sapphire »

Last winter, I bought tights in a brown lace pattern and never got around to wearing them.

Today, Carl wore them with a dark sand colored silk skirt (of mine), burgundy dress shirt and navy vest. It was a very subdued look and a very "pulled together" look.

I gotta stop shopping.....

Black fishnets, that's great, you dare! I also wear net / lace flower pattern tights/ pantyhose, it is great fun.
A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

They are fun indeed, Peter, but I'm afraid I'm not as bold as you. I only wear them under this one long (ankle length) skirt. They don't show unless I'm sitting or slip my feet out of the clogs. I just give an occasional glimpse of fishnet, not a show. Does that make me chicken? Or just a tease?

Blue

Post by Since1982 »

All blue today, just got in from the grocery. Blue T-shirt, Blue twill straight just below the knee skirt, bluish black Birkenstock sandals. Too hot here for any kind of legwear + personally, any kind of tights or legwear remind me too much of trousers and I prefer the feel of the skirt against my bare legs. :kiltdance:

I wish you folks had a Emoticon called "skirtdance" with an obvious skirt instead of a kilt. 8)

I dunno. LIfe has been getting a bit tedious around here (not dull, just tedious) and I'm beginning to find this thread a bit -- thread-bare. It all begins to sound like "today I wore a green shirt and a knee-length denim skirt down to the Quikee-Mart and bought a quart of milk. Then I drove back. Boy, was I daring!" Couldn't we post stuff that's a little more -- exciting? Something like this:
This morning I wore a calf-length day-glo green-and-magenta skirt with tiny Time-square style lights on the hem, my American flag tights, purple rollerblades, a blue skin-tight velvet shirt with a contour map of Texas on it, a big black Batman-style cape that stuck way out, and a big straw sombrero with a plaid hatband. I was rolling down the sidewalk on my way to the village helipad, and so many drivers turned to look at me and ran into trees and utility poles that the street was blocked. I never made it to my helicopter flight because the police picked me up and brought me to the village police station. There, I shared a cell with a man in a great kilt and a Scottish brogue and a guy in a monk's robe, who was in for helping illegal refugees. The monk and I traded clothes, so when I went to village court, the judge thought I was another judge and let me off with a warning. I'm posting the pattern for the monk's robe on my website, and I plan to make another one in gold lame'.
What's that you say? It has to be true?

Oh, um, I guess what I wore "out and about" (my usual early morning bike-riding outfit) was too boring to tell.

Aside from being a positively over-the-top "fashion crime", I find myself needing to find an emoticon of Babe Ruth pointing out the precise spot where he will hit the (base)ball out of the park. This may take some weeks....

I'll admit to "bending a whole bunch of rules" last night, and Sapphire demanded that she got to post the results -- and did. The above is nothing short of hilarious, and I thank you for that AMM. Well done.

That sounds like me this afternoon out for errands. Nothing overtly unusual (for me at least) at all. Nobody batted an eyelash, so I guess I've gone back to being invisible.

Woo hoo!!

today at work...

black button-down corduroy shirt
black semi-sheer tights
black leather maryjane flats with a striped elastic instep band

my skirt is unusual:
dark grey. just below the knee, wrapping about 3/4 around with a v-shaped split at center front. in the split is a 8" wide flap that looks like a loincloth. this flap settles between my thighs to protect modesty, yet is visually like having 2 splits that go to almost the top of my thighs when walking.

it has 2 side pockets, usable belt loops, and is WONDERFUL to wear.

just another day at work :D

Took the kids to the beach this afternoon, nice weather, temp around 80 F. The water was still a bit chilly for my liking but it didn't stop my son from riding the waves most of the afternoon.

Wore my Macabi skirt over my swim shorts, then to a local fish house to buy some shrimp and oysters for supper, then again out to local ice cream shop after dinner.
