Should not be a problem here in Scotland. I live near the Scotland/England border and I wore an A-line denim skirt to take my wife to the shops on Monday and a Midas box pleat skirt to go hill walking yesterday. No adverse comments or stares at all; on the contrary if there is any difference in people's reactions it will only be that they may be more friendly and approachable. When I arrived back in town from yesterday's hike, I was stopped by a lady who said she recognised me from the internet! I have also worn non-traditional kilts out and about in London, York and Newcastle without any problems, and today I will be wearing a tartan kilt across the border in Carlisle.

Thanks, Cessna!
It sounds like it will be a non-event, like it is in my neck of the woods. I do get some stares, and sometimes I hear some whispers, but for the most part no reaction. And when there is a reaction, it is usually from the ladies and is very positive! Another great reason for skirting, getting compliments from the women, something that never happened while wearing pants!
