We apparently broke a record the other day too. Hottest New Years Day on record. (38.0°C) Although it was hotter the previous day (38.2°C)

New record weather

Hi Skip,
43 degF is still tee shirt weather here, :D . Supposed to be going to -12degC in some parts of this country this week. Was watching Ice Road Truckers the other day, and it was -35 to -50 degC,--on the arctic circle. Just nice for a winters walk out, :D

It was c.35F here today, with a bit of a north easterly wind-chill 'knocking off' a few more degrees. Even the woman opposite, closed her (normally) ever open window, for 30 minutes!!!!! Very definitely, "Kilt Weather" and no mistake! :)

With a bit of luck, there'll be some crunchy ground for a day or two, but I doubt very much the white stuff'll appear! :(

Living in Melbourne, Australia, last year was our hottest average ever by 1.3 C. News years eve was 42 C followed by 41 C on news years day.

Very hot.
Have a nice Skirted Day :)

Winter weather

Post by ChrisM »

A high of 36F here in Texas yesterday.

We are 'snow birds' migrating south for the winter. We will winter in New Orleans where we should average daily highs of ~70F. But our holiday stop in NE Texas sure wasn't that warm!

Crunchy ground huh?

Post by Since1982 »

I've not experienced crunchy ground in at least 55 years, Reading PA. Where I was born was crunchy in the winter. :)

:( We were promised record low temperatures, this week. It looks as if we've been badly let down. The local 10 day forecast is showing a min of 35F (at best). Not even a frost! At least, it means I'll not need to get the living room fire serviceable, just yet! Or dig the gloves out!
