Does anyone in this forum have any experience with Chimerism in humans? Do human Chimeras experience gender identity issues?
My only experience with a Chimera has been with a Maine Coon named Floid.
Note: Chimeras are not hermaphrodites [intersexed]

There seems to be a misunderstandg concerning my use of "Maine Coon".
The Maine Coon is a breed of purebred domestic cat. The breed is recognized by US, Canadian, European and British cat registriesnd is widely shown in shows sponsored by those registries.
The origins of the Maine Coon breed stem from the cats brought over to New England and that performed rodent control for early settlers. The cats were large and long haired to resist the harsh New England winters. Because the cats were so large (up to 25 lbs or more),a rumor stated that the cats had interbred with raccoons (a breed of mammal indiginous to the North American continent). The rumor is untrue and such an interbreeding is genetically impossible.
Nicknamed the "Gentle Giants" of the domestic cat world.
Maine Coon cats are one of the most popular breeds of purebred cats. They make excellent family pets due to their gentle, accepting natures.

Any pictures? That description more than matches a very large, very hairy (darkish-grey?) 'moggie' (UK slang for cat, usu. non-thoroughbred, though!) that always comes up and has a long 'chat' when I'm passing its house. The cat's 'owner' (cats actually 'own' people, of course!) says it doesn't normally 'talk' to strangers, but they don't know my 'secret'!

Yes, the Maine Coon is a descendant of the large long haired moggies to which you refer and that I met whilst bicycle touring in England.
There are two other "purebred" breeds that are descended from that same moggie breedstock that you mention: the Norwegian Forest Cat and the Siberian.
The Norwegian Forest Cat is the smallest of the trio and the Siberian is the largest. To the untrained eye, they look alike, but if one were to look at them in an abstract, geometrical way, one would see that the lines of the Norwegian Forest Cat folllow triangular lines, The Maine Coon, rectangular lines and the Siberian, circular lines.
