A Damn Chilly Outing

Hi Emerald,
There is a firm over here that makes high boots with 4 calf measurements and 2 width fittings--think it is Ambrose Wilson, but will check it for you. Sometimes the boots feel right, but can't do up the side zip.
Believe it or not, fishnet tights are lovely and warm. A full slip and half slip with a long denim skirt and boots, and you will wonder when it will ever get cold. My pic in link was taken with temp at -6degC-. Didn't feel the cold, just a bit of embarrasment as that was first time out skirted.
Body shapers get a bit warm too, :D
Regards,
Greg

I fail to find logic behind this reasoning , here's how I see it !!!

Tights or pantyhose defeats the purpose of wearing some pants !!!

Have you ever tried wearing tights or pantyhose under some pants ???
It's so uncomfortable , it's like wearing two pair of pants on top of each other !!!
Now , I'm left with the choice of wearing pants or tights ...
Let's say that I prefer tights !!!
Since I can't go around wearing only tights or pantyhose ,
I need something to cover my behind , this is why I need , at least , a skirt ...
This is why , I find that tights or pantyhose are COMPLEMENTARY to a skirt !!!
When you look good , you can go anywhere !!!

Based on the shot, why on Earth were you the slightest bit embarrassed? That's a decent looking rig. And I'm not talking about the lorry.

I'm not willing to go there. :)

Cheers!

Very well done, that is you, in the safety vest, plain in a positive way, but it looks right. And why not?

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

Hi crfriend,
The embarrassment was for first time out , being seen by workmates. Once the first explosion of mirth was over, I never had anymore problems. After that I didn't care anyway, and enjoyed the day.

The bodyshaper bit was for Emerald--but she would know that already. :D

Hi Gregg 1100, I just love your photo, actually we look somewhat alike. 8)

It's a very natural pose, in a very natural surrounding. You're just going about you're business, and someone was so kind to take a photo of you.

Foto's like that are great to show that wearing a skirt isn't always about demonstrating that we men can wear that too, but that it is and can be clothing worn daily.

Well, as they say, "boys will be boys", and blokes can be a pretty hard lot (I know, the crowd I travel in is quite well known as a "tough crowd" at work). But, as you say, once the mirth dies down everything's fine and everybody just gets back to business as usual. In the "guy world" this is perfectly normal and to be expected; it's just that to an outsider it can look really strange.
After that I didn't care anyway, and enjoyed the day.
That's what counts!

I thought we were talking about cold weather, not a mild autumn afternoon :)

Yeah, yeah... Might be mild for those of us in the plains and northeast. But, in the Seattle area, mild is mid-50's and lower 60's...

I tried my wife's fishnet stockings on once - out of curiosity to see how they felt - and, as Greg says, they are quite warm, but left a strange mesh-shaped impression on the soles of my feet :?
I suppose they trap air, on the same principle as string vests (which seem to have vanished from the shops). I've often thought that fishnets under trousers would be cosy, and I sure I've seen a girl wearing fishnets with conventional tights on top. That must be really warm.

Hmmm.... I would wear the conventional tights with the fishnets over for interesting pattern and contrast.

I've seen that before, worn by some young women, and it looked really nnnniiiccee.
I think that fish nets are a definite possibility for men. There are many fish net sizes. ( so get fishing service regulation size :? ) From a very fine mesh to a mesh that looks like loosley wound string. But it is only one of the vast types of panty / toghts available, which is one of the great things about them, for every type of person, and occasion there is a fitting panty / tight. I think they are even in camou, for the real manly skirt wearer, with a military favour.

And they all have a warming function by trapping air on the leg and thus insulating.

It reminds me that , when I met my Gf , mid-winter 24 years ago , I was wearing a short leather skirt with fishnets over some pantyhose !!!

I do not wear fishnets often , only a couple times a years and another couple times , over some pantyhose ...

To my taste , of all the hoserie , fishnets are the ones that are the most sensual to wear !!!

Hi All,
60 denier black opaque tights work well under motorcycle leather pants on a cold day :D .
Just realised I have sworn---saying pants. Apologies :D

Emerald,
The boots with 4 calf widths ARE from http://www.ambrosewilson.com
Hope that helps you.
Regards,
Greg
