Some positive progress
Some positive progress
Although I was married earlier this year in a kilt, this was the only time I've been in the company of any of my wife's relations wearing a skirt like garment. This weekend however my wife's daughter came around whilst I was wearing another of my kilts and the only response was, oh your wearing a kilt again. After that she acted just as she normally would, and she even asked if I could load her car with various items, which I did still wearing the kilt.
I know she is planning on getting married in the future, and her intended is planning on wearing a kilt for the ceremony, but it does show that skirt type garments can be acceptable to others.

I think it's very nice, to marry in a kilt. Kilts can be very handsom, colourful, "warm" skirts. It is lovely, as Sapphire said, and what you say is true, but don't forget, I think a kilt is not seen as a skirt, although it IS a skirt, but more a formal dress, traditional costume. Not logical but I think it works that way. What makes a kilt really easily accepted is when it is worn as described, by regulations, having the jacket and all else that belongs to the suit, Kilt suit. I must admit they really look great.Bryan wrote:Although I was married earlier this year in a kilt, this was the only time I've been in the company of any of my wife's relations wearing a skirt like garment. Wearing suitable, appropriate clothing for your figure, and the skirt you're wearing is very important, and when you get that right, you'll get compliments for dressing so well, and there won't even be much attention to the skirt itself!

Whether it be a kilt or other skirt, pay attention to detail and you'll always be appreciated.

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.
Peter,
I must repond to your signature line:
"A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference"
This is so true! Men need to get out and about in skirts , wear them in public, show the world that what you say is true.
I'd say more, but I would start crying and everyone would get bored. Let's just put it this way: if my Dad had told me he wanted to wear skirts, I would have sewn skirts for him.
Everyone, please get out their and wear your skirts and kilts!!!
