Being faux-skirted.
Being faux-skirted.
Having been asked to not wear a kilt to work, I know that wearing a skirt is going to be out of the question. However, after a minor skin-complaint in my nether regions, I stumbled across an interesting solution: swap the briefs for a short cotton skirt. I'm still in trousers (most of my trousers are roomy which is why this works), but everything is way more free inside. Unfortunately, I don't have many such skirts so I'll be looking at purchasing some boxer shorts next shopping trip.

Hey Wade, what was your employer's rationale for not permitting kilts?

What may work for you would be ladies' satin or silk boxers. In the UK, these are (or were) called French Knickers. I have a few pairs, and they feel soft and cool under trousers.staticsan wrote:Having been asked to not wear a kilt to work, I know that wearing a skirt is going to be out of the question. If wearing ladies underwear is not for you, you can probably find mens in a similar material and style.
All the best,

Someone complained to HR about the 'guy in a skirt'. The HR lady, whom I'm actually friends with, decided she had to side with the complainant. It made them 'uncomfortable'.Skirt Chaser wrote:Hey Wade, what was your employer's rationale for not permitting kilts?
Which is odd because she saw it when I came in that morning and we had a wonderful discussion about it. The issue of allowing it never came up at that point, so she was obviously happy about it. I think I took my own boss by surprise, which might have been why he was the one to ask me to 'reconsider wearing it'.
It probably didn't help that it was a snow camo Neokilt...

Yeah, a traditional tartan kilt might be better, or a solid color kilt.
Anyway, an option for wearing underneath trousers, might be one of those skirted swimsuit bottoms... I sometimes use one under my traditional kilts when I want something to provide protection against unwanted stains on my kilts... Has a built-in nylon brief, then a nylon miniskirt on top.

Skirted since 2/2002, kilted 8/2002-8/2011, and dressed since 9/2013...
