Skirts for hospital visits

Post by Topsy »

Early next month I am due in hospital (as an out-patient) for a colonscopy. Interesting news today that a certain aged Texan is having the same procedure.

Anyway, I've worn long cotton print skirts to this hospital before so know there's no issue, but bearing in mind the location of the procedure (on me), do I really want a seam rubbing all the way home on the train?

I figure a knee length denim skirt will suit the best, worn with my trusty brown sandals (and NO socks!)

Any thoughts?

Go for it. Also, it would be interesting to see a certain aged Texan in a skirt for the same reason

Good luck with your procedure! You can't go wrong with a denim skirt.

Yup. In his case, I'm sure the endoscope will make a change from a certain (recently retired) poodle's nose.

No need to be sockist!

Some of my best friends wear socks . . .

Hope all goes well with the hospital visit.

Topsy -- Good luck with your upcoming diagnostics.

Whilst I've never had the pleasure of undergoing one of those, I did have to get an NMRI done on my back a couple of years ago to diagnose a few ruptured disks (not pleasant, I can tell you); since the machines use honking big magnets, any metal is straight out, so I wore a simple shirt and my red cotton knit skirt -- nobody batted so much as an eyelash. Go for it.

As of this writing, I understand that they still haven't located any brain yet. The thing that is perplexing US citizens at the moment is, "How much secret legislation did Cheney sign whilst in the big chair?". Of course, since it's secret, we'll never know. (Side question: "How do you know when you've run out of invisible ink?")

Having had one of those things a while back, my only advice is wear some decent underwear as you may bleed slightly after the procedure and may even need to use a pad for several days. Personally I would go the loose pants but its a free choice.

Cheers for that advice. I had already thought that a liner would be useful to prevent staining of my clothing, particularly if I ended up in white tr*sers.

It looks as though I am going for the denim skirt option but (owing to severe negative opinions chez home) wearing loose cotton tr*sers as far as the station (and return journey). It's a compromise I know, but I will at least wear the skirt for 5-6 hours and avoid a nasty argument.

Hey Topsy, a small rotation of the skirt will shift that seam to the side if you want to go with the cotton print skirt instead of the denim.

Wishing you good results with your clothes and health,
