Took a few pics this weekend. What do you think of the shoe/skirt/shirt combo?

Don't like it. It's too sloppy. Besides, where's your head?

I'd likw to be a little less harsh. The straight skirt works well with the tshirt, but for me the trainers unbalance the look. Apart from being black (some shade of light brown or blue would work), they look quite heavy, especially in the sole. A slightly smaller looking shoe would perhaps help.

So actually, not bad. I'm not sure about the last skirt, which is where I think Rogon may have a point. It is quite a "distressed" design, and to tone that down, keeping other garments neat looking / fitted might allow the design of the skirt to stand out.

Of course, what I am doing is suggesting "rules" where we often fight to break fashion rules! Ironic, I think....

You look comfortable. You look like a guy. Good enough for me. I'd romp about for a weekend in it.

Bonnie,

I seriously hope you don't really care what I or anyone else here thinks. Ask yourself whether you feel physically comfortable dressed like that and if you would also feel comfortable socially in whatever setting you expect to find yourself in while dressed in the outfit. If the answer to both those questions is "yes" then wear it if you want to, and to hell with everyone else's opinions of how you look. It's your life, dress for it the way you want to.

If you really want my opinion, I would not go for such "clumpy" footwear unless I was also going to wear long socks, but the outfit is fine for a casual setting. I probably would not wear it to a formal or semi-formal event.

Have fun being yourself,

Ian.

Along with Rogon I also would like to see the complete look, which would include a head. :):whiteflag

Well, considering I usually wear the big skirt while working around the house or driving, the looseness is perfect. The straight one is actually torn near the split from falling off a ladder while painting. The shoes are something I like. I have a thing for chunky heeled shoes. As far as my head, I'm not comfortable enough to have it all over the internet.

I think your casual look is Ok as a casual look for doing odd jobs around the house or just relaxing before or after work. Before people criticise what you are wearing, look around and see what everyone else wears when relaxing or gardening or decorating. Look at the tee shirts, the jogging trousers, the luminous shorts, the anoraks, the cut off jeans and the bobble hats that some people wear. While I have never seen one person wear all the above at the same time but most of us have worn some of the above at some time.
For those of us lucky men who wear skirts, some of us wear them all the time, some of us wear them most of the time and others occasionally. The really lucky ones who can wear them all the time have thrown away most of their trousers and they have various different skirts for all occasions, some for work, some for best and some for relaxing etc. Yours skirts in the pictures are ideal for the day off. Obviously if you become a full time skirt wearer you will need to expand your wardrobe.

Nothing wrong with asking other people's opinions about how you look.
I believe it matters how you let other people's opinions influence what you do, though.

So, I have a hard time judging 'looks' from pictures.
I'll bet if I saw you in person, then I'd figure it looked just fine to me.
I'm a sandals type guy, so I don't care for the shoes, but not because they look bad on you.

The last skirt looks comfortable.
My first reaction was how wrinkled and frayed it looked.
That didn't make me feel like it was 'bad' looking though.

Enjoy your choice(s) and your comfort!

The shoes! IMO they're out of place with the rest. I'd go for some brown hikers matching the shirt, or just white trainers. I've been looking for some blue suede trainers that could go well with denims. The last denim's definitely a keeper.

What kind of skirt goes with the shoes, in your opinion?

Comon now, be honest, did you steal those shoes from Daffy Duck or some other cartoon character???? I know, Capt. America's Basketball shoes, complete with lightning streaks!

I never could understand why so many men want to wear outdoorsman boots or boot looking sports shoes for normal wear unless they live somewhere with lots of fields full of stickers to cross or 18 wheelers to drive. What ever happened to plain tennis shoes or loafers? Unless they feel they might need them to kick the living something out of negative skirt commentors.
