Shaven legs

I have been shaving my legs for the past year as I love the feel of sheer tights on my shaved legs as I find it therapeutic as well as a nice flowing skirt on shaven legs.

I have been looking at ladies electric shavers for legs and I am wondering if anyone has used one for shaving legs and if they are worth the money. Just now I use ladies shaving foam which has aloe Vera in it and use ladies razors.

I've got an linear electrical shaver for my face, midrange one so not top of the line but it wasn't cheap either.
I feel like it does not do as good a job as a razor does, always some stubble left, I'd assume it's the same when used on the legs. It was good and close enough when new, but the blades wear down and it does a worse job and new blades cost as much as a new machine. I feel like you should not have to replace them several times a year. I constantly have a five o clock shadow, which is depressing.

I'm pretty sure the male and female marketed ones are the same, just different packaging and design, if it can do a good job on a beard, legs should be a breeze.

I've been looking into one of those IPL devices but I've never met anyone who uses them, even less so on stubborn facial hair. They seem to do a decent job on legs though so that might be an option with less maintenance than a shaver.

(also seen these magic stone type things that seem to act like sandpaper, but I'm not sure that's a better way, it just looks like a more brute type of razor)

I did have an epilator when I was a teen, worked wonders on the legs but boy was it unpleasant.

I've been looking into one of those IPL devices but I've never met anyone who uses them, even less so on stubborn facial hair.

I’ve been looking at laser hair remover devices but they are quite expensive. I don’t know if I should buy one though. Black fishnet tights seem to be in the only substitute for hiding leg hair if I’m wanting the sheer tights looks.

If I may, I'll add my $.02 worth on this topic.

I've used 'Electric Shavers' many times. They don't give as close a shave like a razor blade.
The IPL works The trick is, use it right after you shave. If you have a day or two's worth
of growth, the IPL won't work. Using the IPL REQUIRES PATIENCE. Don't try to cover large
areas at a single attempt. Small areas, over time, add up to success

I've had great success using a cream hair remover(Veet), then after a shower, using the IPL.
At this point in time, I do this about 2 or 3 times per year. Now my legs are 98% free of hair.

And YES, hose, or tights, grip the shaved(hairless) legs better and don't sag while walking.
This is especially true for me as I'm supposed to wear compression hose due DVT.

I’ve been using an epilator for about a year now and I find it effective and not at all painful. It’s a Braun Silkepil 9 and I use it every 3-4 days. To begin with it caused a slight reddening but it seems the hairs have got weaker and now there’s no problem. I like the feeling of smooth legs very much.

I am also lucky that I don't have much leg hair. Women tell me that they find hairy ape-like legs "gross". Their words, not mine.

As I’m not that hairy, a twice a week shave does the trick. Clothes feel fab (especially sheer tights), legs look clean and presentable. Works for me, but I understand if others don’t want to shave.

That makes it sort of like skirts -- it's a style choice. There do not need to be any other "reasons".

I've not had to shave in years, but started before I began wearing skirts because I could never grow a decent pelt and it always looked like the moths had been at me. So, it went -- and has largely stayed gone since. I don't miss the patchy bits of fur one lick.

If somebody has a problem with that it's their problem not mine.

I’ve been thinking of buying an IPL device as I’ve read some good reviews about them.

I don’t like body hair but unfortunately I’m a hairy guy so I need something good to shave my legs and elsewhere. I shave my legs using lady razors and ladies shave cream which does a good job but it can be a pain in the ass.

If I cannot be bothered shaving my legs then wearing fishnet tights seems to create the illusion that I don’t have hairy legs but I shave them every week anyway as I love wearing sheer tights and the feeling it gives me.

What an interesting review. I think I may get one from John Lewis though I just bought a ladies leg shaver from my local Boots which has done a good job in removing hair from my legs.
