Hello from Belgium
Hello from Belgium
Hi everyone
I am a 41 year old straight male from Belgium, married for 14 years with 2 kids.
I always thought skirts look so cute on women, but never thought about trying one myself until recently, when I came across an article about men wearing skirts. I decided to get myself a denim skirt, to see for myself. I am hooked! They are so comfortable, and no inseam interfering with my man parts!
I haven't taken the step to go out of the house in skirt yet, but that day will (hopefully) come soon. Around the house I tend to wear them a lot, unless I do physical work, where I need the leg movement freedom.
Another thing that I never though about before I tried a skirt, is styling. I just throw on some pants and a shirt and that's it. Since trying a skirt I became very aware about styling. With a skirt, the choice of shirt and shoes seems more important. With a pair of jeans, almost anything goes. With a skirt, it doesn't always look right, especially loose fitting clothes. Still have a lot to learn about styling, but it's something I never gave a second thought before.
I hope this forum and the various social channels I'm subscribed to can motivate me to go out in a skirt soon.

Welcome petieken to the cafe. Please stick around and post a couple more times, then you will be promoted to full member and be able to see the members picture area. I think once you see pictures of men wearing skirts in public and being free to wear what they like, you will soon be out that door and enjoying a public skirted life.

Daily, a happy man in a skirt...
Re: Hello from Belgium
Thanks, will do.
Today I did some stuff in my front yard. There were other neighbours outside, but I don't know whether they noticed I was wearing a skirt.
My kids have already gotten used to it I think. Only the first time I wore a skirt they were like: "what are you wearing?".

Re: Hello from Belgium

Your story sounds very similar to most of us, its such a shame that other men really do not know what they are missing as they have never tried one.
I hope you enjoy joining in the conversation.

Welcome from Ticolandia;
All the little issues, and concerns you raise are common threads here -- and they all have "answers"!
You are making fast progress, and its great the kids are 'on board' with you already. Young ones typically adapt sooner than the S.O. as the 'fears' we've had embedded from social expectations have created a great rut of conformity and fear of stepping out of line -- but, from the house, to the front yard, soon to the street and everywhere else! Yes, we men lost out on the 'eye' for how to put color, pattern, and style all together -- lots of growing room and fun there too.
And -- you can do the stuff needing leg freedom in a skirt as well -- go for a bit more "A" line, shorter, stretch, slits, full or--- lots of options. I manage almost everything in a skirt these days -- about the only time I regress to pants is if I have to traipse through heavy brush that is loaded with biting insects or snakes -- sometimes a simple pair of tall Wellingtons will suffice and I don't have to suffer the pants. Give it all a whirl, share your experience and ask what arises -- we've got plenty of experience on-board -- welcome to the ride.

Re: Hello from Belgium
Welcome.
I gradually gained the courage to wear skirts. At first (in June 2019) I bought a Czech clone of a kilt and went out in it, because kilts are traditionally recognized as men's clothing. And when my surroundings (I live in a small town) got used to it, I gradually switched to other skirts. And at the moment I'm willing to go on the street even in a dress.

Everyone should be honest and prudent: to keep promises and, on principle, never to promise anything to anyone.
Sorry for my English. I try not to make spelling mistakes, but for this reason my writing is very slow.

Hello,
Welcome to the forum! Cool to see that I'm not the only one in Belgium ! :-) Are you coming from Vlaanderen or from Wallonie?
I wish you to find a way that suits you, skirting included or not. Is your spouse aware about it, what does she think about it?

My spouse is definitely aware, because skirts are the only thing I wear at home now. She hasn't really outed an opinion about it so far, she just shrugs it off.
I'm getting pretty comfortable going outside skirted in my yard, take out the trash, getting my mail,... I rode my bike down the street yesterday, but the denim skirt restricts my movement a lot.
