Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
So I was on site yesterday punching a patch panel, when this guy turns up in a bright red cap and fleece. We get chatting and he tells me he likes my style with the kilt. I point out it is a standard skirt and he replies that kilts and skirts are the same thing... In further conversation, he points out the word "Milwaukee" on his cap and fleece to my question as to which power tools is he promoting to guys on the site.
So it is OK for a man to step out the drab men box with bright red items, if the red is the house colour of the power tools you are promoting.
I did also wonder, after he had left, how genuine his compliment was, given he was trying to sell to me and whether he would have still liked my style if he had known that all my power tools are "Bosch"!!!

I wonder what he would think to know that my power tools are Milwaukee's green brother Ryobi. (Same Japanese Parent Company).

If he had a problem with the way you were dressed he probably would have said nothing and avoided any clothing discussion.
It's impossible to say wether he was in sales mode and would have said anything to get you onside or wether he was genuine in what he said.
I had a similar conversation with a female homeless lady. She said she liked my skirt and then asked me for money. I think her motives for the compliment were clear.
I could be a pessimist, but whenever someone can be in "sales mode" or willing to get something from me, I consider everything that is said to not be compliment.

I think this level of awareness is unlikely to be driven solely by trying to sell you Milwaukee tools (also, I am partial to Bosch and use their 18v system... but have a few select Festool tools).

I started many years ago with the 18v Bosch range and I now just buy the tools on their own and use the batteries and chargers I already own.
I was just in McDonalds and the guy at the pickup counter commented that he liked my look! I was just dressed in my normal work skirt, fleece, black hat with my new purple boots.....

...skirt, purple boots, ---all good; but I'm not sure I'd admit I was in McDonalds!

Well they have a special called the "BBQ Ranch Stack" which they keep advertising with an American deep south accent, which they make fun of. Anyway, I quite like trying their specials and after a long day at an annoying client's site, I treated my self, sad I know, but that is my skirted life!
Just got complimented by a guy on the top floor of the Lego shop in Leicester Square. He liked my outfit, especially my Lilac boots. He was in the flower section, getting people to buy flowers, so his motives may be questioned, but I am taking it as a win.
So why was I in the lego shop? Well tomorrow is Valentine's day and Mrs Mouse, likes flowers, but hates me spending too much on over priced flowers at this time of year. So I figured I would get her Lego flowers..... We will brush over the fact that I spent more on Lego than I would on normal flowers...... Let's go with, these flowers will last longer and add to the Lego flowers I bought her a few years back, which she really liked and enjoyed making......

ATM Here in the UK, Mickey D's have a Philly Cheese Stack burger.
I thought of you Jeff.
I do not eat at McD's. I heard about the burger in a radio advertisement.

Well now, that’s certainly interesting! I’d give it a try!

I was shopping in the town centre earlier today, skirted.
A chap complimented me on my black, high block-heeled court shoes as he passed by me.
I replied, "Thank You", loudly.
I hope that he heard my response.
