New Italian Designer making Ballet Flats and Mary Janes for Men

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

New Italian Designer making Ballet Flats and Mary Janes for Men

Post by brennk »

Ran across this designer in Italy that is making a range of flats and MJs specifically marketed to men. I actually like the cut of some of the shoes. I'm thinking this is just getting started as they don't have any sizes up for sale yet. Even their motto says it all: "Made in Italy for the open minded."

One to watch, maybe. I have the suspicion that the price will be high, when they decide what that should be. Good to see shoes for men being different to the boring usual men styles.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Many years ago I recall checking Amazon for Mary Jane's and it was near impossible to find them in the larger sizes. Today I got curious and checked again.... the selection has greatly improved... many varieties in sizes up to 12 with a few even larger.

About a year ago I bought a pair of navy-blue MJs in a local charity shop - absolutely brand new and unworn. Inside the shoes they were marked: Easifit, size 9/42 (i.e. UK9, EU42), style name Kaitlyn. They are rather wide for me unless I add a fairly thick insole.

The Easifit website mentions what appears to be the same style, but calls it Caitlin, and the maximum size is UK6, price reduced from £74.99 to £49.99, while the black version only goes to size 5. https://www.easyfit.co.uk/products/cait ... 3766544563

Pavers has a good selection of MJs (including my Easifit ones) at various prices from £17.99 to £69.99. https://www.pavers.co.uk/collections/style_mary-jane

I bought my pair for just £5.00. I reckon that I got a good deal!

The Easifit Mary Jane's look very smart and look well made. Very low priced. A sound purchase. :)

One to keep an eye on! I have a feeling the price might end up being steep once decided. Nice to see men’s shoes breaking away from the usual boring styles.
