I voted in a skirt

Post by jjjjohanne »

A little over a month ago, during the US elections, I got up enough nerve to go to my polling place while wearing a skirt, and I voted.

Of course nothing really happened... except that I was nervous before, I was self-conscious during, and I was jubilant afterward. :)

Me Too Jjjjohanne,
I actually can't remember when I did it for the first time, but nerve wracked, certainly.
However, what you are really telling is that you did your lawful daily business wearing what you wished.
The mundane, the routine, even the drudgery of living, these are the actions that will gain fashion freedom for men.
Well done, but no politics, that upsets some folks.
Steve.

I think I wore my satin palazzos to vote in this year, but have definitely worn skirts in the past. On 2024-11-06 I reverted to all-black male drab suitable for wearing to a funeral -- and kept that for a month and a day before reverting back to an ankle-length plaid winter skirt with a heavy petticoat under it.

We've turned the corner into what passes for "winter" in New England, and it's been cold, dark, and mostly rainy for the past 3 weeks, plus just enough snow to be a hassle and make a mess, so it's all long heavy stuff going forward until Spring returns. If I make it. I hate this season so much that I'm beginning to not care if I make it through another one,

Not that there's anything worth looking forward to after that.

Last month I, too, voted while wearing a kilt. Last night my wife and I went to a concert of the Vienna Boys Choir, and I wore a kilt. I also received several nice compliments. But, then again, I wear kilts every day.

I've worn a skirt(of some type) every time I've voted, for the past 20 years.
I usually pair it with a plaid or solid casual, semi-dress, shirt - N.B.D.

NBD for some of us but memorable and satisfying when it is a first time.
At the last election a conservative fellow (in the original sense) was handing out party electoral material which I politely rejected, however I ended up having a long conversation with him. He seemed at ease talking to a man in a mini skirt with many people passing.
My name is Anthony, please accept me for the person that I am.

I vote in a skirt. If you wear skirts in public it's just another activity. If still in the early stages of skirt wearing in public then yes nerves, self conscious can pop up.
Be yourself because an original is worth more than a copy.
