Holdups!
When I’m wearing my kilt I like to wear nude coloured sheer tights as it gives my legs the illusion they are slightly tanned and I love the feel of them. However, I feel they irritate my male genitals so I bought a 2 pack pair of nude coloured holdups to solve this problem.
I wore the holdups today with my kilt but unfortunately I had an embarrassing experience with them whilst in town. I was walking down the street when I felt one holdup coming down my leg then suddenly it fell down to my ankle. I looked around me to see if anyone noticed but thankfully nobody noticed. I had to go to a public toilet and lock myself in the cubicle to roll the other hold up down and tuck under my socks.
I have to say that I’m not too impressed with holdups as they are absolutely useless. My only option is to make a hole in the gusset of tights or buy Suspender tights which is hard to find in high street shops.

Right there is a major difference between men and women when it comes to clothing.DrFishnets wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:55 pm When I’m wearing my kilt I like to wear nude coloured sheer tights as it gives my legs the illusion they are slightly tanned and I love the feel of them. A woman would have pulled the wayward tight back into place and continued on where the man abandoned wearing them at the first problem.
Watch a woman in a strapless Top/Dress, they are constantly pulling and pushing it back into place only top have it move again in a few minutes. Its so common to see women pushing and pulling on their clothing all the time that we ignore it.

I think the reason I abandoned wearing them at the first problem (or should I say I rolled them into my socks) was humiliation. I really didn’t want to hike my kilt up in public and pull them back up because I knew they would roll down again and it woukd cause me a lot of stress. It must be frustrating for the woman having to adjust clothing and and it to fail again and again.

So I have been there and have the T-shirt. The trick is to get the rubber band at the top of the stocking to stick to your thigh. This is simple physics on getting the correct size of stocking, making sure the skin is free from talc or other lubricants and the rubber band is not contaminated and sticky. Sometimes mine work perfectly and sometimes you have to walk monitoring you legs for any slippage...
Having said all this, I prefer plain stockings and an industrial suspender belt with 6 or more fixings. This gives much better security.
I am with you on the feeling of tights on your bits. I find a pair of cotton panties under the tights works fine for me.
So in concluding, I use all 3 systems of hosiery depending on what I am doing and what I want to wear. At the moment I am being lazy and using cheap 15d tights from my local Tesco in a range of beige to black shades.

Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Re: Holdups!
The holdups were a size extra large which are the largest size in M&S. The rubber parts of the holdups were sticking to my mid thighs and my legs were hair free and dry and the holdups did feel secure. They stayed up securely for 25 minutes into the walk before I started feeling them giving way on my thigh. I visited my local music shop where I sat down to play piano. After I left the music shop that’s when one holdup fell from my thigh to my ankles out in the street in full view of the public.Mouse wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 1:12 am So I have been there and have the T-shirt. I have a black size 24 suspender/garter belt to hold up stockings. Unfortunately, it’s difficulty finding stockings in high street shops so my only option is pulling the rubber off the holdups to attach to the suspenders or cutting a hole in the crotch of my tights. I’m really not wanting to give up on hosiery as hosiery is my favourite part of wearing skirts and dresses and they feel absolutely amazing.
I do own a few pairs of authentic 1950s black fully fashioned nylon stockings but I’m a bit worried wearing them out in public incase they ladder as they cost me a lot of money.

They make crotchless tights. They might be marketed as "sexy" but they are more comfortable and convenient for using the facilities.DrFishnets wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 8:34 am Unfortunately, it’s difficulty finding stockings in high street shops so my only option is pulling the rubber off the holdups to attach to the suspenders or cutting a hole in the crotch of my tights.

I'll quote a verse from a song written by Percy French more than 100 years ago....well known as 'The Mountains of Mourne'
Verse 2:
I believe that in writing, a wish you expressed
As to how the fine ladies in London are dressed
Well if you'll believe me, when asked to a ball,
Sure they don't wear a top to their dresses at all
I've seen 'em meself and I could not in truth
say if they were bound for a ball or a bath!,
Don't be startin' them fashions now Mary mo chroi,
Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea
As for hold-ups in the hosiery department, I've tried them briefly once and for me at least they are totally useless. Not being into mechanical devices, i.e. suspenders and the like, it's got to be tights for me and perhaps crotchless ditto (Jim's suggestion) might be worth a try.

I think that by this, you mean what I call a garter belt. If so, that would be my choice as well, with one caveat. I really don't like the extra rigging, and therefore seldom do it. Not something many guys would wear, but since nobody see's it then it doesn't matter.

I've found he ones without the crotch are arguably the best for our anatomy.

Re: Holdups!
I've tried several types of hold ups or Thigh Highs as they are sometimes called. My issue with pantyhose or tights is they either fall down, fit uncomfortably around the waist or sag at the crotch. The very best were some from Sarah Borghi, and were an almost entirely opaque 60 denier with excellent comfort, colour, and grip. I found them in a discount store and bought several pairs, I'm now down to one new pair and a few which I'm nursing along. I found that when I washed them, it pays to place the silicone band against itself then hang dry. Wish I could find more, but nothing I've tried come close, though I have bought the really expensive brands like Wolford. I sometimes cut up tights and turn them into stockings and use garter belt/suspenders.

Re: Holdups!
I don't like tights or pantyhose because of the logistics of having a pee, which can be quite often in cold weather. I have taken to wearing very long socks which generally stay up surprisingly well but after a lot of walking they will show some upper thigh like the stereotypical Japanese school girl, which I am not. A surreptitious hoisting now and then works OK and if I am going to be walking around in public all day I will install a couple of suspender straps from the top of the socks, which are up around crotch level, to the bottom of my shirt.

Re: Holdups!
I am thinking of another option of kilt hose and "FLASHES".
Maybe not ones cup of tea or other preferred beverage.
The elastic band if not sewn to the flashes could be used to keep the hold-ups to their function of holding something up.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
