Black cord skirt

Post by DrFishnets »

I was in Matalan and seen a nice black cord skirt. The bonus is that it has pockets! I decided to buy the skirt because they had my size 22 in stock. However on the Matalan website it’s advertised as a mini skirt. What’s baffled me is that when I wear it it goes down to my knees even though I have the skirt pulled up an inch above my navel. I have average length legs for a guy who is 6ft.

Skirt lengths that have been listed based on location of hem:

1. Micro-high thigh.

2. Mini-mid thigh.

3. Above the knee. One to two inches above the knee.

I have come across mention of a short skirt with a length between mini and above the knee.

Skirt looks nice. I guess the problem of the cord whistle as you walk is eliminated in a skirt. How deep are the pockets?

The pockets are quite deep. I can fit my whole hand into the pocket.

I bought this skirt in Burgundy. I agree that it is a good length and decent size pockets.

The skirt looks nice, though I don’t care about the pockets since I never put anything in them.

DrFishnets & Eborian, you both look great in your cords.... :) How do you find the quality of the Matalan clothes?

Thanks for sharing, the skirt looks good on both of you that posted pics and the length is nice. My skirts are usually a little shorter. Well done.

The pictures of the cord skirts in both DrFishnets and Eborian's posts in this thread were pulled from the Matalan website's skirt pages and are of female models.
I feel sure that neither member posted the pictures in the thread with any idea that they might deceive other members into thinking that it was them in the pictures.

I like corduroy garments, including skirts.
There are many brands, lengths, and colors available in the U. S.
I don't see any specifically for men, or modeled by men, so you have to pick and choose from what's available.
I insist on having belt loops and pockets.
Here is one example. Sold by JCPenney. corduroy skirt st johns bay

Sorry, I made my jokey post assuming that everybody had seen the pics on the Matalan page and was in on the joke. To be, fair the same joke has been made in other threads where stock pics were used by members to show what they had bought.

Unfortunately, I’m 150lbs heavier and taller and hairier than the model wearing the cord skirt on the supplied photo. :)

I wish I was like that model but hopefully soon as I manage my weight and groom myself I’ll be modeling the skirts and dresses I’ve bought. ;)

TBH Mouse, I'm not sure whether clothing on Matalan's website is visible to folks in the USA such as KiltedBigWave?
In the same way, JC Penney's website isn't visible to us here in the UK so we couldn't easily view the corduroy skirt from St Johns Bay which Bertino56 recommends.
Some sort of IP address filtering at jcpenney dot com to prevent non-USA customers.
It takes one to a page on their website which says, "We Are Currently Unable to Provide a Shopping Experience for This Country". :(
