Continuation. of politics in "I no longer have to hide..."

Post by JohnH »

This is a continuation of political ideas expressed in "I no longer have to hide my feminine inclinations".
Rather than to continue in the wanderings going off topic with the original thread, as per trainspotter48's suggestion, I'm starting this thread. After all, why should people on the east side of the pond have to wade through the politics of the US?

It would have been far better if Joe Biden would have chosen a vice president that actually won a primary instead of picking Harris, who never won a primary. And unlike LBJ (Johnson) who dropped out of the running for reelection on 1968 March 31, Biden waited until after the primary season to drop out of the running.

If Biden picked a more desirable vice president candidate that won at least one primary and dropped out of the race before the primary season, maybe we would have had a MUCH better candidate for the top of the Democratic ticket.

How ever nice it would have been for a primary to have been held for the Democrats, they wanted kalama and this was the only way they could insure they got her. Biden did not just drop out he was unceremoniously kick out by the people behind the party. So as the Democratic voters have been screwed out of picking their candidate we are currently seeing more and more of them switching to vote for the other party.

I would say Kamala Harris was not elected; rather, she was installed like a toilet.
So I believe Joe Biden is a cause for so many people to swing over to Trump instead of selecting the Democratic candidate.

As an observer from across the pond I'd suggest that while the primaries were taking place, no one wanted to seriously stand against the sitting president standing for a second term. Once Joe dropped out there wasn't really an alternative to his VP. However as far as I can see anyone would be preferable to a criminal liar who's threatened to scrap future elections!

Scrapping of future elections is NOT going to happen. That would require a constitutional amendment.
The paragraph below explains the arduous process to ratify an amendment.

"An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification." (Whitehouse.gov)

Let's just take things one step at a time and work to to deal.with problems as they arise.
