Denim Maxi Skirts
Denim Maxi Skirts
Just wondering are there other guys in this forum that enjoy wearing denim maxi skirts? I initially wasn’t too sure on them but after seeing so many in shops I decided to buy a few and they are now my favorite type of skirt and I now normally wear one most days!
Re: Denim Maxi Skirts
I did buy one in a thrift store, but I've never worn it out in public yet.

I've got one that I wear in the winter. The great thing is that there's room underneath for a (midi) skirt for extra warmth

I have a three or more that I find a quick easy answer to "work skirt" days when it is chilly. I've not tried Charlie's solution of an underskirt but I do routinely use half slips for that purpose, and a pair of thigh high pull up socks will readily make most toasty in the cool/cold season.

How full are the skirts you're discussing here?

I wear ankle-length denim skirts for outside work in cold weather. One was a bit narrow and opened up along the front seam. I sewed in an old jeans leg to make it more roomy.

I have this...

...which I bought on eBay many years ago. It came with its own wide belt in wide belt loops. Normally it sweeps the floor, but I cheated in this out fit with 8" heels.

I have 4 denim maxi skirts! One is the first skirt I ever bought which is a long straight skirt with a big slit on the back. I have two stretchy pencil skirts, one in blue and the other in black. Lastly, I have an A line denim maxi which has unusual pocket positions. I love all of them and I usually wear them with high heels but I’ve also paired with flip flops in the summer and with knee boots in the winter.

I have a small handful and absolutely love them! I think it is also a good first step for any guy who wants to start wearing skirts in public, but is a little nervous since they kind of look like jeans at first glance, and usually fit like a very comfy pair of jeans also.
I recently found InheritCo. They are a clothing store that sells modest women’s clothing, but I have some of their denim skirts and they are my favorite pair of jeans by far. They are a little bit pricier than what you might find in the department stores, but well worth it.

Big fan in terms of how they look on me, how they feel, and the Vs I feel like I'm flicking whilst wearing them. I still remember a fundie woman going full-on apoplectic when I posed the question, "How would you feel if a male identified teacher showed up in a skirt one day and continued to do so for the rest of the term?" Would like to think every time I pull one of mine on, she feels a twinge of pain that somewhere, someone is, in her words, "going against nature." I have two straight ones with back slits from Maurice's, three from Style J (one darker denim, one mustard, and one mermaid), one front slit from Target, and one button front from CATO.

I have a denim maxi skirt for winter wear which, when worn with multiple petticoats, keeps me very warm.

I was in my local Asda and was browsing the skirt aisle when I seen a long denim skirt reduced from £20 to £6. Usually I don’t bother with denim skirts but this was too good to miss and I bought it. The denim skirt has a front split and front and back pockets with a zip and belt loops. Strangely the button fastens from the right to the left which is the same as fastening mens trousers and jeans. Usually on women’s clothes they fasten from left to right.

Nice, Dr F, but following the outrageous expenditure of £6 I'd then have enough change to take it along to my tame seamstress and have her hem it at, say, 22" down from the waist, making it into a fine knee-length A-line skirt with an elegant centre box-pleat . Last time she did that she screwed me for a well-spent Eur 17. However, I still hold jeans-type pockets to be too small. (My mother inadvertently equipped me with very large spades where my hands should be!)

I would leave the skirt as it is and wear it long. Of course, I would say that, since I am going through a long skirt phase.

Re: Denim Maxi Skirts
The denim skirts I have are all buttoned/zipped traditional male way. I haven't done a survey but most jeans from the female side also seem to be fastened similarly.
