Been getting back into making videos after a long break. This time, I'm steering towards a bit of an unorthodox do it yourself, variety channel. Think Red Green show if it was a little bit more serious(humor will still be involved). I've already made two videos with me in skirts on screen and getting ready for the third and probably the last to feature muzzleloaders and guns for awhile.(testing the musket ball trap).
I figure wearing skirts and corsets will be an ongoing subtle motif since, I wear them anyway. I may do a square dance video and perhaps some sewing
projects since the wet weather will be starting before long forcing me to do more indoor subjects. I still don't have a name yet, was thinking something along the lines of or Radical Do it Yourself, or Creative Solutions. Any ideas of suggestions appreciated.

Re: youtube
Not bad. Fun to watch.
On the first video, I'd work on stabilization of the camera though. Folks like myself can't watch "shakycam" videos. As for me, too much and I'll spend the rest of the day with my head between my legs. I've actually had to walk out of a movie theater once because of shakycam... I was sick for hours.
But still... a fun subject and a good start. It's good to see a guy wearing a skirt doing what guys might typically find enjoyable. Another step in normalization for all of us!
Well done!

I get the same way when I'm forced to watch much stuff that features Decel "spreadsheets" (I refuse to call it "Excel" because it doesn't) (technically printouts on greenbar paper) that the "presenter" insists on repeatedly scrolling up and down. I get motion sickness, and have been to yell at people to, "Hold the damn screen still for a moment before I throw up!"moonshadow wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 6:02 pmOn the first video, I'd work on stabilization of the camera though. Lack of proper stabilisation aside, that was a fun video. I enjoyed the playful twisting of the term "frock" towards the end of it. She made several very, very good points. I just wish the general public would (could!) get on board.

Yeah I had my daughter film that segment instead of using the tripod, she's not exactly an expert.moonshadow wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 6:02 pm Not bad. Fun to watch.

Third one, and probably the last shooting video for awhile, the weather's getting wetter and around here it usually stays wet for around 9 months. Now to figure out the subject of what's next

That sounds like a really unique channel idea! I think combining DIY projects with a bit of humor and your personal style (skirts and corsets!) will make it memorable and fun to watch. As for the name, I’d go for something a bit quirky to reflect the vibe you’re going for.
Maybe "Patchwork Projects" or "Offbeat Solutions." Both hint at variety and creativity but keep it casual and approachable.

I'm thinking I'll call it The Asylum. I'll be playing to both definitions, asylum from the establishment, government, and the norm, and asylum as in the nut house, Since I'm A little crazy anyway.Bart_Allen55 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:38 pm That sounds like a really unique channel idea! I'd recommend Da Vinci Resolve for video editing. I've gone through several and resolve is by far the easiest, fastest and nicest to use, and very, very powerful, both for audio and video. Lots of good tutorials on YouTube too.
