i went outside in a skirt for the first time

Hello everyone.

Yesterday i was wearing pants/throusers all day at work and they where sticking to my legs so i thought alright i am dome with this now so i put on my skirt after dinner and having a shower and just went with it for the rest of the evening (including going to the living room and such),

then today because i did not have work i went all out and put on a skirt and just went with it for the entire day so far (it isn't long before i go to sleep), when i came down to the living room i got a very surprised face and had a good conversation about it (i felt nervous though), the one who was surprised was understanding of why i am wearing a skirt especially after i showed her the introduction to this forum (everything before the rules are explained, thank you everyone who helped write and post that introduction) so yeah that was all good.

Then in the afternoon i had to drop off a package for return at the local grocery store (which has a pickup point) and did so while wearing a skirt and i did get a few surprised looks but nothing more than that, then i went on to another pickup point to pickup a package (with a second hand skirt) on my bicycle wearing a skirt, again i did notice a few surprised looks but nothing much happened other than that, i just went my way to do what i wanted to do and then went back so yeah that all went well.

And then for the icing on the cake: my parents came over for a visit and where absolutely surprised by me wearing a skirt and after explaining it (including letting them read this forums introduction, again thank you to all who helped with that) they where a lot more understanding however they do need their time to process this but i am sure that in time they will as in the end this is my choice and no one else's.

So yeah all in all had a really good day with all of this happening and i feel a lot more confident now, what really helped me in this is a colleague at work saying this "I don't understand what people are so concerned about" when i was talking with him about men wearing skirts. I am very happy with how this is going and i am happy wearing skirts

Yes, fantastic. You got right to it -- and a 'full dose' at that with roommates; community, and family all in a day, super! The surprised looks are pretty much normal human reactions to anything that is a tad different than their usual expectations, but nothing more & more often than not, they are having neutral or positive thoughts. While i not all of my housemates saw it yet (as most are not home in the weekend) in time they will.

Yes confidence (owning it while wearing it) is key in it all indeed as that shows off that you like wearing it and that you feel there is nothing wrong with it.

I am glad i did it and while for my parents it is some getting used to (they are from another generation, they say it has nothing to do with that but i think it does as when they were between 20 and 35 like i am this totally wasn't as normal as it is now) but yeah they will get used to it in time.

I just need to get some short leggings sometime to wear over my underwear with short skirts so i don't sit on my underwear when sitting with a short skirt and if an accidental flash happens then just leggings are shown so it isn't as bad

Well sizing is difficult i have found, even within the same brand. I bought a faux leather skirt with zipper in front in XXL size then when i tried it it would fall down pretty easily just walking around so i sended it back for being too big then i bought the same one but 1 size smaller and that fits too tight. I do have 2 skirts that fit me and a third is being worked on so it will fit me, i think i should go to stores more often to be honest as that way i can either measure them myself or let them get measured
