Mechanics of wearing a skirt

I have 3 questions I'd like to run past the group.

How do you put on a skirt? Do you step into it like pants, or put it on over your head?
Where do you like the skirt waist to be on your body? HIgh or low?
Should the shirt or blouse be tucked in the skirt or untucked?

Or do the answers to these questions vary by the type of skirt and/or your body type?

That depends on the skirt. Short ones are usually pulled up like trousers, but long ones are frequently tossed over my head and caught mid-flight on me on the way down.

Where do you like the skirt waist to be on your body? HIgh or low?

That depends completely on the design of the skirt.

Should the shirt or blouse be tucked in the skirt or untucked?

If I'm wearing a men's shirt it's always tucked in. Blouses depend on the situation. Generally speaking, if it has tails it's intended to be tucked in.

All 3 are just personal preferences, although I think that most men would step into the skirt.
I sometimes put a skirt on over my head if I am changing it and keeping my boots on.
Most of my skirts I wear below the waist although I have a few skater skirts that I will wear at waist level.
Sometimes I tuck the shirt in and sometimes I leave it out. I do not tuck the shirt in tightly and keep it a bit loose about the waist.
Most men's shirts are too long to wear untucked with a mini skirt as they almost cover the skirt and if tucked in tight they might even show below the hem like a wayward pettycoat.

It is not rocket science .......... unless wearing a skater skirt on a windy day.

Difference between a dress donned over the head and a skirt which usually is a step in.

Remember the waist of said dress/skirt has to fit somewhere around the waist and must be flexible enough to get to that point.
Dresses don't depend on firm fitting at the waist as the shoulders/upper torso bears that function.
As for skirts they have to fit securely somewhere in the vicinity of the waist albeit north of the hips - - -
Otherwise it is that London factor of britches (skirts) falling down !

Skirt fitting closure at the waist may be by:
elastic stretchable waist band
zipper (or button) panel
wrapping around secured by a clasp button or velcro
and sometimes even portions of all the above

Some mens' shirts-lacking prominent shirt tails-can be worn either tucked in, or hang loosely over the trousers. I like the option of wearing one of these shirts loosely over a skirt.

Wrap-skirts: doesn't apply, unless I'm too lazy to undo the wrap when undressing, in which case I put it like pants. I have one model that I use for house renovation (because I soiled it with foam, otherwise I would probably use it outside as well ) which I never unwrap, but it also has an elastic waistband that helps
For the rest, sometimes I may put on a skirt or remove it, from my head. But it is quite rare and highly dependent of the skirt itself: there are a lot of skirts I couldn't put on that way. The rest of the time (most of the time, in fact) I put on a skirt tha same way than trousers, except that I always give up finding the second leg (better not give up with trousers, it may cause troubles (this just gave me an idea)).

My body doesn't allow high waist: the skirt always drops down to a low waist. So, always low, the same way than trousers (the ones I don't need to often pull higher to avoid crotch to hinders when moving thights). That makes skirt choice much more difficult, as most of the available models have a large waistband forcing high waist or are high waist, causing thight hindering after the drop happens.

Depends on the skirt, the upper clothes, the desired look, the weather, etc. Not possible to give any answer for this one

I put them on and take them of by stepping in or out of the skirt. I find it easier, some of my dresses can go on that way too. Easier for my back and shoulders.
I wear then around my waist if possible, one of the thing I don't like with trousers is that they sit so low.
I'm a habitual tuck my shirts in, no matter what I'm wearing. My wife hates it though...

Well, I step into mine, usually while sitting on my bed.

I prefer my skirts to sit at my natural waist, even though I don't have curves to make that work effectively.

I tuck in all my tops. Looks neater to me than untucked.
