"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Those outfits look remarkably like idealised 17th century, strongly influenced by the American Colonial period. Patterns should be available...moonshadow wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 4:16 amI'd love to get my hands on some of these totally cool dresses, skirts, robes, etc....

Used Google to look for the pattern for the Star Trek TNG Men's skant. I have no connection with the eBay seller.crfriend wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:51 pmThose outfits look remarkably like idealised 17th century, strongly influenced by the American Colonial period. I'm all for it.
Punch up Google Images and search "skant" for a hundred pictures.

I've always liked the tunic and tights look. I would wear this with tights or leggings.

I'm not crazy about the skant. I think it looks like a big 80s tee shirt.
I rather like the long flowing flashy stuff that they put on from time to time..

Re: Star Trek TNG fashions
I seem to remember a long ago thread about Joan of Arc and mediaeval clothing. The skant rather reminds me of the doublet and tunics from some of those illustrations.
At the time I had an idea for a waistcoat/skirt one piece combination made in velvet. However, other events overtook me and the plan was forgotten. Until now that is. The memory just came flooding back but I doubt that I will be in any position to resurrect the idea.
Steve.

I'm shocked this wasn't the picture in the original post. That's always been the most notable costume from Star Trek TNG in my mind, and the uniform option I'd go with.r.m.anderson wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 6:28 am Here is a favorite of mine - - -

Yes, it must be an ancient episode by the look of the TV set but Moon obviously prefers the long garments and chose that pic, which is fair enough.Dust wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:33 amI'm shocked this wasn't the picture in the original post. Pretty cool, but not something I could see myself wearimg. Now or in the 23rd century

I'm a big time Star Trek fan, I might get this for Halloween but I think it need black tights or leggings for my taste.

Skant is too short for my taste.
