Off on holiday skirted.

Post by Paul »

Well the time has come to go on a foreign holiday to Fuerteventura for a week this Wednesday while wearing my new black denim skirt travelling. I am planning to wear my skirt from the moment I leave home to go to the airport, my one concern is going through security, I just hope I don’t get pulled to one side by some bigoted security guard for to do some extra checks just for the sake of it. My intention is to wear nothing’s but skirts all week, I’m going on my own for the first time, I’m hoping I won’t feel too lonely. But I’m so looking forward to wearing different skirts each day in and around the hotel and to ignore any negative comments or stares from the other guests, the difference between wearing a skirt say to the supermarket where everyone is busy shopping and mostly don’t see you, in a hotel you have ‘people watchers’, let’s face it we all do it, it’s part of relaxing on a sun bed and watching the world go by.😎 so wish me luck guys.

You should not have any problems, I have travelled abroad several times and never had any problems either outward or returning through other countries airports.
Think how many people from all cultures and backgrounds they see every day.

I'm sure you wont have any problems. Earlier in the year we done a two week cruise, visited six European cities - skirted/dressed all the way. I've posted pics of what I wore ( "skirted cruising" in the pics and looks section) and received no negative comments at all. Only positive. Enjoy the experience and remember to take some pics.

I am sure it will go well... I travelled from the UK to Germany skirted - plain black pencil skirt, black stockings (trainers / sneakers for comfort)... I did get searched but it was a tablet in my rucksack (I was searching my bag, after putting most of my electronics in a tray) found it wrapped up in a shift dress

Some bemused looks from security staff but they've seen it all

Just wear a knee length denim, it should be fine 8)

The black denim skirt that I’m going to wear is classed as a ‘Mini’ but comes to about 2’’ above my knee.

Hi Paul,
I have traveled by air in a skirt so many times I can't remember them all.
I've never had a single problem with the security people nor on the plane. So enjoy you holiday wearing your skirts and don't let a few idiots spoil it. Most of the people may take a second look but that's fine it means they now have seen a man in a skirt.

Buen viaje, have a great trip. Like the other posts, my experience too has been smooth sailing --in the air and on the ground. The usual 'go with confidence" and enjoy.

Thanks guys for the support and encouraging messages, I intend to ignore any comments I happen to hear, not that I will hear many as I have Bluetooth hearing aids now, so I will be listening to my favourite music all the time through them. lol.

Paul, don't assume the worst; your bluetooth earphones will likely shut out more compliments than anything else.

Hi Guys, well I can confirm that my journey from Manchester airport to the island of Fuerteventura went without a hitch, sailed through security, when I went trough the scanner it bleeped! So had to do a further scan standing legs apart etc, I’ve been skirted all the time I’ve been here at the hotel, not getting any negative comments so far, the occasional second glances of course, but virtually all day just ignored. Everyone is just enjoying their holiday as I am, even the hotel staff are not bothered about me walking around in a skirt. Joy 🤩

Hi Paul,

so glad, you had good experience. Enjoy your vacation.

I have always loved holidays where I have only brought skirts, knowing that it was not about skirts or pants, just about which skirt?

I totally agree GerdG, I’ve only brought one pair of long trousers and pair of shorts, basically to stop my other half from guessing my intentions lol.
But I’ve packed about 12 different types of skirts to wear, I’m loving it, never had so much freedom to be myself 😍 and fortunately not getting any responses from the rest of the public, apart from some side glances of course. Here are some of the pictures I’ve taken.

I have traveled cross country several times, both driving and flying. I have only worn skirts and I have not had any issues. I did have 1 guy and a couple woman complement me on my skirts. But most people don't care or they don't even notice. So go and enjoy your vacation.

I am continuing to enjoy my holiday, it’s really amazing that I’m getting no reactions from anyone, it’s almost as if it’s quite normal for men to wear skirts. I haven’t worn any shorts or trousers since I’ve arrived just skirts of all kinds short, long, it doesn’t seem to matter, joy. I’m so pleased to be able to dress as I want.
