Winter Mini Skirt
Finally I have found a true winter mini skirt. Down filled and quilted, very much a mini skirt and not a skort.
It has a front zippered muff pocket where you can actually hold your hands, if that doesn't look too ridiculous ....... or someone else's hand, which would look ridiculous.
It is warm, however it has high cut elastic sides which exposes the tops of my long socks which I am a bit shy about (not being a teenager). I think it really should be worn with tights or leggings which I dislike.

I suppose that closing up the sides, even partly, wouldn't be feasible? Otherwise thick tight are the only other option. Good look though.

Re: Winter Mini Skirt
The legs are the least of the warming problem - it is the fingers and toes (external digits) that are prone to freezing first and thawing last.
And don't forget the dome (head) lots of heat loss through that no brainer ! LOL !

Depends what your mother tongue is, Anthony. That mouth shape in Queensland would pass for a Strine-smile.
You seem to have taken care of the warmth of the no-brainer, the pins and the digits, but that 'skirt' is little more than a belt-with-a- muff. I like skirts that swing, which requires at least an inch of free pendant cloth below my bottom.

But Al - what about skating in a mini-skirt (tutu) leotard in the winter ?

A - I don't skate
B - Ice Skaters wear leggings to protect themselves.
It's just the thought of a Mini-Skirt in the dead of a North Texas Winter,
that sends chills up my spine. Ice Skaters are 'usually' in a closed/indoor
rink. Being outside, wind blowing around 20-30MPH, temps near ZERO
degrees Fahrenheit is a No-Go item for me. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Re: Winter Mini Skirt
I agree that it does seem a bit strange but I missed wearing mini skirts in winter. I tried longer skirts but I don't like the look or feel of them on me and I tried leggings but the logistics of having a pee was too complex (which becomes more frequent with age). Now that I have more confidence I don't need to rely on the justification that they are good in hot weather; it is just what I like to wear. Actually I find that bare legs are OK most of the daytime and I am indoors at night with a wood fire going. I wear long socks with a mini if I am going out in the evening.
So now I am an all-year 17/6 (not 24/7) mini skirt wearer.
The concept of a quilted, down filled, mini skirt appealed to my love of the incongruous.

Re: Winter Mini Skirt
I've seen plenty of women wear tights in the winter with skirts. So why can't I? Winter or no, mini-skirts are comfortable!

Re: Winter Mini Skirt
hh, no reason at all. I wear thick black tights in winter with mini skirts. I consider that completely usual.

Re: Winter Mini Skirt
I'd go with tights under one that short for sure.
When I first saw this title, I was thinking that you'd gotten one from Skhoop or Mountain Hardware. They both have quilted a-line models in the 14" length range.

All dressed up and nowhere to go - still in lockdown.
A tweed mini, warm for winter with long socks, and a touch longer than my usual fare. Pockets too!

Anthony,
You DO look well, I must say. I like the cap and the pockets. Interesting that at your latitude your trees have leaves on in Winter. Up here on Lat.53 North our trees are all bare in Winter, except for the conifers, of course.

That's a great look on you! Sorry about the lockdown.
Now if only it would cool off here in the US... Soon enough, I know.
