"AHEM" - cough - "What an abortion of fashion" !
Not my cup of tea and certain one to consider changing by beverage to something way stronger to drown my displeasure !
And "AMEN" !

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

As a long-ago Eurovision commentator used to say: .'Null Puong', meaning 'No Points', about some entry best forgotten.

Re: Comme des garcons

better than about
I liked some of the shoes worn on their feet,
not their heads.
Some of the models 'seemed' to be ashamed of
what they were wearing but, $$$$ is $$$$ to
earn a living

They got attitude ...... or paid to look like they have. I can not understand the "attraction" of looking like that or the reasoning to promote that look. I can imagine the choreography "Come on fellas, try and look a bit more miserable and grumpy".
The each their own. I have never followed fashion and am even more unlikely to.

Nope. None of that stuff moves the needle for me.
I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman.

Why on earth would one wear high heel shoes on your head as a hat or a hair-piece feature of sorts?

Isn't this a little early for Halloween? Now to figure out what characters these models are suppose to represent.

Re: Comme des garcons
Original and creative is the best I can come up with.
That is my charitable opinion but it will never be fashion unless it is severely diluted.
Anyhow, that's not what the creators intended anyway.
Mass demand would be a curse in their minds.

Re: Comme des garcons
Are these designers laughing all the way to the bank? Or do they take themselves seriously? I'm asking a serious question - rarely they hit upon something that is wearable - but most often the designs are so ridiculous they are ripe for parody (Zoolander). I mean, bravo to them that they have the gumption and have risen so high that they are able to command such attention... but it feels like art for arts sake and not really fashion...

Re: Comme des garcons
I have never met such a designer but I would expect them to be completely serious about themselves.
Their work being an intrinsic part of their self view.
Such designs would command silly money but sales a bit thin.
The profit motive will not exist for a lot of these folks, business oriented, they do not tend to be.

In a nutshell Coder, you have it right.
