Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
Social norms aren't changed by Congress or Parliament; they're changed by a sufficient number of people ignoring the existing ones and publicly practicing new ones.
Oh what a surprise,. So unexpected as my birthdays just seemed to get forgotten.
Seriously, thank you every one and all. Thanks for remembering. It's more than I got from my colleagues at work. I was at work at 7 am spent 8 hours traipsing around the store doing Click and Collect, ending up with sore feet, legs and back and not a word from any of them. I had a nice meal though at my daughter's with a pasta bake and chocolate buns to follow. Such a low key day. Yes 66. I said, when I was 64, that when the Beatles brought out their song it seemed such a hell of a long way away, now I are it.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
Well Dottie, I'm semi-retired now. The past couple of weeks have been about full-time but I normally work about 20 hours. I do it because I enjoy the job - I meet people, get exercise, my colleagues are great and have got used to me, skirts and all [0], it gets me out of MOH's way for a few hours and keeps my brain active. I don't really need the money and I will have to retire someday. But I can choose to work or not - I don't have to. I could even take a sabbatical to say, visit New Zealand, for a couple of months. At the moment I feel that I am in the best position I could be. Thanks for your comment.

With all the recent progress, may your OH gift you a skirt? Enjoy those last couple years before the 8th. decade settles in. NZ is a nice treat anytime--especially the far north island in my view. Check your lungs on the cake, enjoy.
