'Dress day' donations pour in after politician's criticism
I found this on the BBC news website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-41356928
"Donations to an Australian school's "wear a dress day" charity drive have skyrocketed after the event was criticised by a Conservative senator.
Craigburn Primary School in Adelaide encouraged its students to wear a dress or casual clothes to school to raise funds for girls' education in Africa.
Cory Bernadi criticised the event as "absurd" and "gender morphing".
The post sparked a backlash online and supporters have now raised more than A$180,000 (£132,000; $142,000).
The school's original target had been A$900."

If I want to dress like a woman, I'll wear jeans.

Just shows you that sometimes "Politicians" can do good even if they aren't trying.Charlie wrote:I found this on the BBC news website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-41356928

That usually happens when they're not trying. As Samuel Clemens (aka "Mark Twain") once observed: "No man's life, liberty, or property is safe when the legislature is in session." Also: "Congress. The only native American criminal class." The world's second-oldest profession [0] (which shares many commonalities with the oldest) was widely reviled in the late 19th Century, and it's only gone downhill since.Fred in Skirts wrote:Just shows you that sometimes "Politicians" can do good even if they aren't trying.
[0] Depending on who one listens to, this can either be politicians or lawyers. The comparison to the oldest still applies in either case.

Hey look everybody! Cory has a thought he'd like to share.... Because we all know the laws of the universe hinge on the whims of Cory Bernadi!
And when a politician has a thought, we'd do well to at least lend him our ear for a minute or two, as these moments (thoughts) are somewhat rare among politicians...
Everyone shhhhh...shhhh...shhhhh..... quiet..... he's going to think..... watch...
