Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
He he, my apologies to Uncle Al for jumping to a wrong interpretation of the thread title before reading the thread. I thought it might have had something to do with skirts.
My name is Anthony, please accept me for the person that I am.
I live in a townhouse and the contracted maintenance people blow the snow around instead of plowing it.
But as mentioned by Sinned it only works with the types of snow that are dry powder like.
It will do nothing with wet heart attack city snow except to spatter back at you.
Some caution is necessary when blowing it least the winds shift and it blows right back where it came from
making a blizzard in your face or up your skirt ! LOL !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
I regard ALL leaf blowers as a total nonsense. Not that we get much of the white stuff here, but when we do, a few swipes with a long-handled yard brush will make no noise, use no gas and outpace that blower thing by a country mile.....and it won't blow your skirt up around your hips, either!

Tom
I totally disagree. I bought one two summers ago, and wished I had 20 years ago. They are very good for the twice yearly cleaning of my roof and gutters, as well as keeping the driveway clear of tree detritus that is constantly falling from the many evergreens in my yard.
I'll have to give it a try when the snow is falling next time.
What an orderly chap you are! We occupy a large tent here and roof cleaning is definitely not an option. As to gutters, our wet climate arranges that what gets stuck in there wouldn't be shifted by a blower, for sure. More like a garden trowel!
As to the drive &c. We haven't progressed past the brush, rake & barrow here and we have 150 yards to contend with.
Another pet hate of mine is electric carving knives.....
Just curious Tom, and not to imply anything Luddite in this, but do you use a dental drill in your work, or just chisel the cavities out for fillings? Just razzing you, my friend...
As a matter of fact, the sun DOES shine out of my ...
Naw, Dillon, Dental drills are noisy things. My policy is; If in doubt, yank 'em out !
My days are occupied almost exclusively A/ hacking impacted roots &c out of people referred in by dentists who don't like the sight of blood, or so it seems, B/ Carrying out root canal treatments on twisted teeth referred in by dentists who can't see round bends and C/ stuffing titanium implants into places where dentists' best efforts have failed to hold onto the originals.
