You must be a " Sparky" by trade, Mr Kingfish, I do the same thing!kingfish wrote:That was a first rate improvised bandage. I actually carry a roll of white electrical tape in my bag next to my wallet. Along with a sharpie pen, it also makes a good wire labeling kit.

Re: Why we're MEN in skirts
I actually, for the first time in about 8-9 years, had a shop work on the car I drive. For the past year, the Volvo wagon I've been driving has had no overdrive on its automatic transmission. Bad solenoid valve on the side of the transmission. Normally, I'd replace it myself, but, having only about 1.5" of space between the valve and the transmission tunnel, plus bolts that are very tightly threaded on, I finally gave up, dropped by an import car repair shop, made an appointment, and had them replace it. I'm sure I could've bought a set of flexible ratcheting box end wrenches, and replaced it. But, I didn't feel like visiting Sears, then maybe contacting MAC tools or Snap-On and paying the $50-$100 for a set. Wound up paying about $112 to have the shop put the car in the air, use their tools, and replace it. I finally have something I can drive at 65-70 mph without running at 3500 rpm all day long. Should've done it last year, around this time, which is when it stopped working on a daytrip to Oregon and back.
