Out and About -- In the World at Large
Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Jeff the photo you posted does look very nice. You look like you own the look and are very confident. Confidence is often the key to having others leave you alone as there is nothing they can do to make you ashamed of yourself and thus have power over you. Just remember that when someone ridicules you they are only really showing there own insecurities.

Quite true. In all the years I've been wearing skirts in public, I've never expressed anything in the way of shame, in fact, I feel pride because I present a tasteful and stylish appearance, and that boosts my confidence because I know I look good when out and about.hoborob wrote:Jeff the photo you posted does look very nice. To change the subject completely. A young, very svelt lady came through my store today and she looked gorgeous. She was wearing a strapped 1950's style dress complete with underskirts to make the skirt full in green with red ladybirds dotted on it. She also had a wide, red elasticated belt and she had a small waist. I complemented her on the dress and I wished that I could have had my phone on me to have taken a picture but of course on the shop floor it's not allowed. Really made my day. Drool.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Ebay seller Hell Bunny has similar skirts advertised on their site, along with other 50s style skirts. Also take a look on Etsy. Sounds great for your trip to Jamaica, they'll love it ♡♡♡Sinned wrote:To change the subject completely. A young, very svelt lady came through my store today and she looked gorgeous. Sorry to be pedantic, but Hell Bunny is a designer brand with ranges for a variety of niche markets. These include specialist "clubwear", rockabilly, 50s, punk, etc. They are supplied via many on-line retailers, including Ebay, Amazon, SimplyBe, Sohos, etc.kilty wrote:Ebay seller Hell Bunny has similar skirts advertised on their site, along with other 50s style skirts.

Finally was warm enough to do a little shopping in the little skirt my wife got me. Picked up some groceries at Food Lion and spent about an hour in there zipping around with a black tank, the tie die skirt, and my sandals.
Didn't notice anything unusual. Then again... I wasn't paying attention.

It's not a "selfie", since I didn't snap the picture of "myself"... you took the photo Bean.

What I wore on an outing yesterday. Even though temps tickled 90 with abundant sunshine, I felt perfectly cool and comfortable in the 20 inch Old Navy khaki skirt I wore. I'm surprised guys don't wear skirts more in hot weather since they keep one cool in ways jeans or even shorts can't.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Actually Jeff I've seen a number of guys wearing skirts on the hot summer days we had last year.
I don't remember any looking as pulled together as you always do.

JennC03 and Pdxfashionpioneer: Thanks for the kind words. I do as best I can when it comes to presenting a proper public image of a man in a skirt.
