I agree but, as usual some people have just no sense of humor.

I can see requiring no windows facing the street and requiring that nature of the establishment be clearly stated so that nobody drives up and gets surprised. But given that, what's the harm?

This reminds me of the bikini weenie phenomenon some years ago in Florida. It started with bikini-clad women operating hot dog stands on city streets and then progressed as the women discovered that the less they wore the more they sold. Eventually they got down to just three little patches with spaghetti straps theoretically holding everything together. Such outfits were legal on the beach, the women claimed, so why not everywhere?

One woman made the news for stopping to buy gas in her work clothes. Go figure.

One man reportedly complained to the cops, "Do you know what's going on at that street corner?" and they said, "Oh yes, we go there for lunch all the time."

Eventually the powers-that-be did put a stop to it, though. Or maybe the novelty just wore off and sales dropped anyway.

As someone who lives in Washington State, this is old news. It' been going on for years, at least 13 according to Wikipedia; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bikini_barista

Personally I don't get all the commotion about it. I you don't like it, don't buy your coffee there.

I have seen this in many places. The NIMBY crowd try to stir up trouble every-time things start to get dull. It is like they say what can we ***** about that we can make into a Federal case with national attention. There are places in my town I don't go to but I don't try to start trouble just because I don't like what they do.

Exactly, but the moral guardians are always looking for ways to impose their beliefs on others.

I dunno, some people might be into that...

(shakes it off)

But what makes you think they're not going to scratch their asses anyway? Or fail to wash their hands, or...

I bet you all already know where I would stand on this issue.

That said... if you dont, my only complaint is the tape the girls have to put in their nipples.

I agree with Gordon, if mommy goodie two shoes doesn't like it... go somewhere else!

It will be a cold day in hell before Virginia allows this. Its probably a capitol offense in Mississippi.

You mean they send you to the big building in Jackson with the dome atop it?

Two notes here: (1) I'm a bit of a crank when it comes to spelling; typos I can tolerate (and altogether too frequently commit), but using the wrong word pushes buttons I'd rather not have pushed (an offence can be "capital" (i.e. of the highest order, meriting a similar punishment) but not "capitol" (the big building with the dome [0] on it in the capital)). (2) Yes, I had to look up the capital of the state of Mississippi; I've been through the state once on the train, and have no desire to return.

[0] Everyone has heard of "pyramid power" where supposedly dwelling under a pyramid enhances one's powers of mental acuity and overall health. Do you suppose that dwelling under a dome has precisely the opposite effect? That might explain a lot...

I stand corrected. However please be advised that Im on my phone and sometimes autocorrect takes on a life of its own.

Just a few weeks ago sent a company email stating we are moving the retarded to the Galax store.

Should have read "we are moving the retarder to the Galax store"

It happens... but everyone knows using the wrong words is only a capital offence in Massachusetts.

If I didn't make my thoughts clear, I EXPECT that they will scratch private parts, and not wash afterward. That's the only real reason I'd prefer that those parts are covered. Sanitation, or at least a modicum thereof. Same disgust I hold for "going commando."

How would you know if a barista at a fully-clothed coffee shop had just gone in back and picked her nose? Or reached inside to scratch herself?

And in any event, and at either type of shop, the workers shouldn't be touching the product with their bare hands.

As to going commando, I stay a lot cleaner that way than sweating inside underwear and tights.

But by all means, take your business where you like.

FYI: As a restaurant worker virtually all my working life, serving in hundreds of establishments over the years, I can tell you, the more expensive the plate, the nastier the kitchen and staff. With the exception of bars and Chinese places, which are appalling. Mexican places tended to be spotless. Italian is middle of the road. School kitchens... you could eat off the floor. Fast food places, pretty good. Middle class dining places (like Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, etc)... fair. Buffets like Ryans and Golden Corral.... you're a brave man.

Fancy places ($30 per plate on up)... DISGUSTING.

Soup kitchens? Mom would be proud. Not as clean as schools, but second place.

Coffee houses? Not much actual food preparation going on, generally clean. I hate working on expresso machines.

Fun fact... clothing can hold just as many bacterial nasties as skin. Six some, half dozen the other.

Half naked people serving coffee? Sure why not.

Doesn't it just! Wish I could disable it.

I find the same thing on my work computer. I don't mind the little red squiggle under something that's mis-spelt -- what I do mind, however, is when the computer thinks it's cleverer or smarter than I am and changes something on the fly.

Coming in for a good ribbing does not exactly qualify as an execution!

If you want a fun read, get a copy of Lynne Truss' work "Eats, Shoots and Leaves". It's a brilliantly-written and entirely hilarious critique of punctuation errors in modern writing. "Embrace your inner stickler!"
