I went to a local goodwill today. I found this slightly below knee skirt that looked promising. And denim skirt I loved. I tried both on. The denim one was a size 8 and was just too tight. So I got the black one. I realize now it was a bad choice because it's a suit skirt made by sag harbor. Has no stretch and is supposed to be dry clean only. It's okay, but I think I enjoy more flowy skirts.
On the way home,I stopped my another. I picked up an awesome black skirt there. And I love the stretchy nylon/lYoga blend. And pleats. I'm thinking I really love skirts with pleats! I even had to make a late night Walmart run to wear it out

You know, if you bought a skirt from Goodwill, you can return it. Just save the receipt and the shop tag.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

You'll have to google "MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - THRIFT SHOP" for the answer.

Yesterday I was checking out a Goodwill store. I had a camo skirt and a pair of women's jeans. I noticed the clerk rang them up as men's jeans and men's shorts. I didn't bother to correct her.

The cash register probably didn't have a men's skirt button. :)

I found a decent skater skirt at forever 21 for 6 bucks. I got a gray one. I like feminine clothes. but I like more manly colors.

While not in the same price range as the Goodwill stores - I get my skater skirts at Kohl's or Charlotte Russe -
have to shop early for getting my size and fit.
The nice thing about skater skirts is the simple design - pull on - elastic waist - easy care wash and wear -
and enough material at the hem for modest wearing while seated most anywhere.
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

that's exactly why I like them. I didn't see anything at Charlotte Russe. but come springtime I'm going back

Contrary to the title I don't find buying skirts hard, I have just had to refine the filter I use for keeping out the ones that just aren't my style. When I first started on this skirting route I bought loads of skirts that I am now going to redirect to the charity shops as they were bought with the viewpoint that you had to dress like a woman to wear a skirt and they fitted in with that. Now I realise that that isn't true and also there are some of my skirts that MOH says she definitely doesn't like so some will be saying goodbye.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

So true what you said. I'm just finding it difficult because I'm not seeing much of a selection in stores. Spring and summer are approaching,so I believe I'll be having better luck

I buy most of my skirts on line. I have found that If I know my size and I do it is really quite easy. :D I have looked in some stores but the selection is even more sparse than on line. Most of my dress skirts are from Jessica London. The prices when on sale are better than in the shops.
I also have about 6 knit skirts that came from Old Navy. Again the selection in the store was non existing. I have bought 3 skirts on E-bay. One was listed as a certain size but when I got it it was not the size listed and when I tried to return it the seller said NO RETURNS so I do not buy from him at all and left a nasty feedback. :naughty:

Maybe that works for you, but I think it's fun trying on skirts in stores!

If you get an item that was wrongly described, by all means take steps to get your money back. You DO have recourse through Ebay. There are buyer protection policies in place (Money Back Guarantee); a standard problem is "Item Not As Described". You can find out how in the many help pages (go to "help and contact" at top of Ebay pages).
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!
