Re: Cold skirting observation
We see it around here frequently as well (Calgary) There is a school in the downtown core near to where I work that has a very similar uniform, and I see the girls sometimes at the Safeway at lunch time in the Winter.

I have found this too, I was out this week in a pair of, not fishnets, but a fishnet type pattern, with heavier opaques over. Definitely felt warmer than just the opaques, and gives a nice subtle patterning through the outer layer. I assume it gives and extra air layer near the skin, and serves to keep the air near the skin separate from the outside air, and thus reduces windchill effect considerably.Gregg1100 wrote:A long skirt with fishnet tights means you will not be cold. Forget about fishnets being fashion tights, they are brilliantly warm. I have been out on the bike with fishnets covered over by thin tights- under the Kevlar jeans and boots, I have not felt cold at all.
