Levi skirts
Levi skirts
Does anyone here wear a skirt made by Levi Strauss? If, so, please give details.
Is this a skirt which is still being made and sold?

An overwhelming "YES" I like that shirt dress - EXCEPT - it is 20 cm's out of my size range !Kieran wrote:I quite like the look of the shirt dresses, specifically this one - http://www.levi.com/GB/en_GB/womens-clo ... /192860001
A +Positive+ note the size chart in USA sizing and International is excellent but that doesn't make the clothing any bigger.
But then at least it is not the fantasy undersizing of Asian clothing or one size fits all regardless !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Re: Levi skirts
My first skirt ever was a Levi's. That's some 40 years ago, folks! The same style as shown but a bit longer, typical knee lenght.

Re: Levi skirts
About four or five years ago, Levis marketed a corduroy skirt for children and it was modeled by what was obviously a little boy aged about two or three.
Re: Levi skirts
I like the idea but, like RMA, I'd have a horizontal sizing issuer.m.anderson wrote:An overwhelming "YES" I like that shirt dress - EXCEPT - it is 20 cm's out of my size range !Kieran wrote:I quite like the look of the shirt dresses, specifically this one - http://www.levi.com/GB/en_GB/womens-clo ... /192860001

It also looks to be about the same length as the one dress I do own, a length best summed up as too short! It's OK when stood relaxed but if I raise my arms, the hem follows and...

I will find something I like in the right size one day.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: Levi skirts
Hmm, the design is pretty basic. It's not even a one piece dress, but a shirt and an A-line skirt sewn together at the hem. No darts at the skirt, just gathered up fabric. Simple hems. It can't be that difficult to make a pattern for it and adapt it to bigger sizes and different length. Hmm, maybe that could be my next sewing project...r.m.anderson wrote:An overwhelming "YES" I like that shirt dress - EXCEPT - it is 20 cm's out of my size range !

If you're always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.

This may only have happened in Sweden, Stu. You're all way ahead of the rest of the Western world.Stu wrote:About four or five years ago, Levis marketed a corduroy skirt for children and it was modeled by what was obviously a little boy aged about two or three.
Keep on skirting,

While I like-em short I too have that horizontal plateau issue.Milfmog wrote:I like the idea but, like RMA, I'd have a horizontal sizing issuer.m.anderson wrote:An overwhelming "YES" I like that shirt dress - EXCEPT - it is 20 cm's out of my size range !Kieran wrote:I quite like the look of the shirt dresses, specifically this one - http://www.levi.com/GB/en_GB/womens-clo ... /192860001

Have fun,
Ian.
I can take just about any skirt dress or kilt and shorten it to my liking.
But it is the bedevilment of adding material to make the garment
look good.
When there is too much material a dart or a pinch of fabric here
and there will do or maybe adding belt loops for an alternate
method of retaining the garment where it is supposed to be worn.
But 20 cm's about 8 inches - 4 on a side is a lot of leeway that
Levis did not plan in their skirt making.
After all milady's clothing was designed for the petite frame and
not a covered wagon master or lumberjack in a forest.
