What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
I'm just wondering what others here have in the way of favorites that you seem to wear most frequently.
So far i have only purchased solid color kilts and a few skirts. I seem to have gravitated toward grey and shades of tan. No patterns yet. And the shortest I have bought is a wrap skirt at 17 inches that is ordered but not arrived as of yet. Most are 19-20 inches.
For me, those seem to blend in the most and not scream " Hey, i'm in a skirt !"
Let's hear what you are wearing

Black, tan, brown, grey, occasionally purples. Knee length or slightly above, or long ankle length.
Last night I went to Greenfield Lake Amphitheater to see ALO perform. I wore a grey ankle length skirt with ruchable side seams and a black travex top. ALO is the tightest jam band I have seen since the old days of the Dead and Little Feat.
This morning I'm in a one piece swimsuit and a short black Columbia nylon skort, as I'm thinking of a walk at the beach.
I have a couple brightly patterned Patagonia skirts but those are for summer.

Earth tones, 24 inch (kilt length) or floor sweepers nothing in between.
Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
Knee-length, utility kilts mostly, in black, gray, red, blue, green, olive, khaki, and camouflage.
The camouflage kilts are the only real pattern; all,the rest are solid. Some of my utility kilts do have embroidered designs on the aprons, though.

I prefer length around the knee, current favourites sit just above.
My colours are solid navy, grey or black with brown and red thrown in.
I don't do the traditional or "U", kilt type stuff.

The skirts I wear out are knee length to high ankle length. Many of them are around 30 or 31 inches which works out to be mid-calf on me. The ankle length is black; the three mid-calf length are mushroom (think the dark, not the light mushrooms), khaki and navy; and the knee length are a couple of shades in the khaki end of the spectrum. They are all solid color.

Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
So far I just have blue denim and khaki, plus one forest green utility kilt. I like short to medium length, 12" to 24" (mid-calf on me.) And there's a aqua colored nylon floor length nightgown, (pictured on another thread), and a couple of mid-length pink nylon nightgowns, but I don't usually stay in those long after I get up, and only my wife (and those on this site) see them. No patterns. I might get bold enough for a light weight, patterned summer skirt some year, looks comfortable.

I like and wear tartan kilts in all colours, primarily red, green, blue, and solid black. My utility kilts are black, sand, olive, and postal blue. The black one might be my favorite.
I also have a few tartan mini-kilts (green, red, and purple), and some skirts which are black or blue denim.
My tartan kilts are top-of-knee length (22.5”-23”) or a little shorter than that (21” and 22”). My Utility kilts are 21”, my mini-kilts 18”-19” and my skirts vary from 17” to 19”.

Tartan kilt, Royal Stewart tartan

Black traditional kilt. Black knee socks. The sporran has been replaced by a small shoulder bag.

Utilikilt, black. Above knee. Off-white scrunched down socks and boots.

Utilikilt Olive, worn with black pantyhose.

Mini-kilt, BlackWatch tartan, worn with black pantyhose and boots.

Skirt with buttons. Dark grey knee socks. Shoulder bag.

Black skater skirt, black knee socks. Shoulder bag.

Black golf skirt, socks and sneakers. The skirt has deep pockets.

Either knee length or ankle length, solid colours usually black/grey/green/dark blue.

Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
All of mine are well above the knee of which I have many. I have most colours and some have patterns, I have some very short 10 inch pleated ones and I think that with a pair of tights I'd probably just about get away with going public in those. I'm now fine about going into shops preferably with my wife & daughter in my utility kilt but at 24 inches I find that a bit too long and heavy. I have the sort of slim legs that get away with short skirts so I'm lucky, but I have to say the top half of my clothing looks very masculine, biker leather jacket/ t shirt and my full biker beard. I don't really see me ever going into my biker pub skirted, that said maybe the kilt one day. OMG I must really confuse some people.

Mine are 18-20 inch. A-line or pencil with front button & zipper. Preferably one button and pockets
Colors: black, khaki, charcoal and denim
As masculine in style as possible. Basically on top they look like regular guy pants and shorts, except for the fact that they are a skirt on the bottom!

Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
Lengths all over the place from 11.5 inches to 41 inches with no particular length dominating. Colours again all over the place with I suppose mostly solid block colours, blue, black, tan, white but I have green, lilac, orange, pink, purple, red, turquoise, yellow. A few patterned and tartan but I must admit that I am reluctant on patterns and wouldn't really look at anything flowered or frilly. But I take each skirt on its own merits and trust my judgement as to whether I would wear it or not. So far the only skirts that I wouldn't wear outside are the really, really short ones which are for MOH's eyes only.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Solid colours, lengths tend to be above the knee and longer, down to ankle length.

Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?
Lengths from 16" to 39", but usually in the range 19" a bit above the knee to 24" bottom of the kneecap. Last winter I generally went for long skirts but now I'm more into knee length with thick tights. My skirts are generally denim or cord in the usual range of colours for men (you know what I mean!), but I do like coloured tights. Today's are purple. However for a change I have a long red skirt and a patterned velvet one.
I wore my tartan kilt on Friday. First time in ages. It was to a charity fundraiser dinner with my employer. Nobody batted an eyelid; there were dozens of kilts on display, including at least four at our table.
