Re: Happy birthday to Kirbstone
Well spotted, guys. I wasn't going to mention it, but at Midnight on he 20th/21st Time booted me out of the six-dozen club.
I was firmly in the hands of MOH (no skirting!) the whole w/end apart from two very enjoyable galley-slaving outings in a racing VIII from 8AM each morning. The Sat. was an open-air concert with grand picnic beforehand, Glyndbourne-style at Russborough House, overlooking the Wicklow hills......The Celtic Tenors, not my first choice of listening, but they steered clear of Opera, delivering an evening of beautifully arranged folk music, but they did do a hilarious send-up of one of the more famous Pavaroti arias, which brought the house down.
Sunday was a garden party at home. I thought just one couple were coming 'to tea' at 5PM, but 20 arrived, bearing gifts and two guys got the BBQ going, so we ate lavishly and the weather co-operated, which was nice. They stayed just until 10.30, which was just right.
It WAS a happy birthday!

Happy birthday, Tom, even if I am late to the party. I have a good excuse, though -- I was asea.
