The Long Kilt
:Hello All!
Back in March I contacted Garb the World located out in California and placed an order for a long kilt based on their contemporary cargo kilt. although they sell one made with a tartan I wanted a different look hence the style choice. The kilt was made in an navy cotton twill fabric with a brushed finish. It features heavy duty snaps for closure which I had requested to be place so waist size adjustments could be made. There are additional snaps down the right hand side of the apron to make it lie well when sitting and also to provide some extra security. As I have indicated the kilt is made long and drops to my ankles and is an easy wearing garment.
Garb the World while not being the best at keeping one informed about manufacturing progress delivered a well made garment in a reasonable length of time. Go to www.Garb the world.com for product and contact information.
I know everyone would like to see pictures but I'm afraid that is beyond my meager skills with a screen reader. Please accept my apologies ladies and gentlemen.
There are a couple of more things I forgot to mention about the kilt, first the pleats are done in a box pleat style with sewn down edges and there are belt loops that will accomodate a 2 1/4 inch belt. Cargo pockets are available as an optional item for which there is an extra charge.
Garb the World supports the men in skirts movement and I encourage everyone to support them. One more thing I feel I should mention is that their speciality is historical wear but I feel that they could be encouraged to branch out a bit.
If you are interested in the long kilt please do give them a try I don't think you'll be disappointed and the price is reasonable.

Re: The Long Kilt
Good-day!
I realize that I may have given the immpression that I just took delivery of the kilt. I actually recieved the kilt back aroun the end of april and I'm just getting around to posting about it. Garb the World has done a fine job and delivered in a timely manner. I just didn't want anyone think their order was going to take an historical amount of time getting to them.
Take Care and as always: Slainte'!
