Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
My wife & I were watching TV as the wall was coming down, tears in
our eyes. My eldest came home from high school and wondered why
we were crying that a wall was being torn down. We turned to him
and said "We remember WHY it went up - and to see it coming
down-FINALLY, was remarkable and heart warming.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
I was living and working in West Germany at the time the Wall came down. On the one hand it was a pivotal moment not only for Germany, but for the whole of Europe, but:
Chancellor Kohl gave the East residents parity in exchange, a Mark for an Ostmark, which led to all sorts of economic restrictions for the West in the years that followed, particularly in the running of the Health services. These eventually led to my leaving Germany with negative equity, which was no fun at all.
