Ryder cup fashion

Post by skirtingtoday »

I managed to get a couple of tickets to the Ryder cup for Friday 26th. Saw quite a few men in kilts - mostly plaid - in the ratio of about 1:100 against trousers. It was about the same ratio for men in shorts cf trousers.

Here are a couple of pics of American kilts, both of which I saw and photographed when I was there. This one was really awesome and had a single white star on a blue background at the front. To the rear, the vertical pleats were white on the outside (visible) face but when the pleats opened up when walking, the hidden face ( with the red stripes) became visible. It can be obtained from http://www.got-kilt.com/American-Flag-M ... k-0011.htm

And another - that looked more like a skirt. This one had horizontal red and white stripes at the rear and a forest of stars at the front - not sure where it was obtained.

I was there and saw these kilts! I even have a photo of the gents wearing them. What a brilliant weekend. I grew up there which made it even more special.
