Interesting that your link is titled "stuff Mom never told you". I think that's the real key. Mother's really do have the power to change all this. If more mothers put skirts and dresses on their little boys, in 1 generation attitudes about men in skirts and dresses would change.

It's really only since the 1950's or 60's that that stopped happening. Before that boys and girls were dressed in identical open-bottomed garments even up to the age of 4 or 5. It was only with the milestone of attending school that the differences started. The advent of the babygrower changed all that and MOH and I as new parents dropped onto that bandwagon. Will mothers get back to that - it would be difficult to do as the conventions are so much more set in stone now. I look at my children as they bring up their children and shake my head in despair as I don't think that they have the incentive or mental toughness to break the mould unless their children show the proclivity that has been demonstrated in examples in other posts. We haven't really had very good experiences with children's spouses being "adopted" into our family by marriage. A couple turned out to be right sociopaths!!!! The current two seem to be turning out ok, { touch wood }.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
