Wow, check out the pleating on this skirt, available on UK ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-BACK-ELAS ... 1229557770

It's got box pleats with (inverted) knife pleats between each box pleat, all the way around the skirt!

I am actually really tempted to buy one onceI get to the UK. Not a fan of 100% polyester, but the price seems ok, so the skirt might be ok. Only one way to find out, I guess.

Also, other cheap pleated skirts I've found on ebay that look ok:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Box-Pleat ... 3f267c05ab

Anyone hear had experience with these pleated skirts? I wonder if they are worth buying. I really like fully pleated skirts, whether knife, accordion, or box pleat, but always have trouble finding them in my size. And I'm not sure whether these are in the UK sizing or US sizing (i.e. is a XXL 18/20 in US or UK sizing...).

The first one is the only one available in my size, I don't fancy trying to iron it though!

I bought one off Ebay,

It is a "Britney Spears School uniform Skirt Pleated short length BIG SIZES 18 20 22 24+"

I wanted something light and breezy and no longer than knee length for sailing in warm conditions, it is just what I wanted, a bit tight at the waist, I need to lose a bit more gut to make it fit better, but I need to lose weight anyway.

Oh, yeah, that's a bit pleated.

*edit* Re; the second two links - UK 18/20 looks to be US 16/18.

This has been covered in other posts/threads but ahem, take the following with a rather large pinch of salts and results are not guaranteed. In the UK the sizes 8/10/12 etc originally represented the waist size less 20. So a 36 waist becomes a size 16. It still sort of worksish. Some retailers work on the small side of the size and others verge on the generous ( mainly those catering for the larger woman ). This is not to be confused with dress sizes 8/10/12 etc which bears no relation to skirt sizes. So I am a 34/36 in waist and a 14/16 in skirt size but I actually take anywhere from a 12 to an 18. But my dress size is 18/20/22 because I am a 42 in chest. Of course then some bright spark introduced S/M/L/XL etc and in this realm it is a complete free for all and in my circumstance I am probably an XL/XXL. Now just to confuse things some of the more chic designers now work on sizes 1, 2 and 3. Just those. No others. There was an article in one of the Daily Mails this week about a size 12 woman 36-24-36 going into some of the boutiques for the uber-small and couldn't get anything to fit. Apparently they just make the clothes in sizes 1-3 and stop. Can't help thinking that they must have only 2 brain cells ( which aren't connected ) because by stopping there they are ignoring about 70% of the female population. Now I know why they do it - exclusivity, market segmentation and all that but it must do little for their profitability!

Anyway longer than I intended but Ptblly you did ask!
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

UK size 24 normally fits a 44" waist, or I use an XXXL, which is usually ok for me, with a waist of 44 to 46"
