It's rather amazing, really, that they parenthetically comment "(for women)" even though each and every one of them fastens "men's style" (left-over-right) and the "Mountain Hardwear" job is marketed to guys at other retailers.photoguy207 wrote:These arrived today, they are amazing:
Methinks there are some rather ossified brains over at The Sierra Trading Post.

The odd thing is, if you zoom in on the waistband of the Mountain Hardware skirt it say womans.crfriend wrote:It's rather amazing, really, that they parenthetically comment "(for women)" even though each and every one of them fastens "men's style" (left-over-right) and the "Mountain Hardwear" job is marketed to guys at other retailers.photoguy207 wrote:These arrived today, they are amazing:![]()

The model in the Carhartt picture has a rather male figure and hands.

Further exemplified by the website offering the prices in many currencies and a variety of languages, even though there is a note that the item only ships in the US.crfriend wrote:Methinks there are some rather ossified brains over at The Sierra Trading Post.
Oh well; I guess they're trying.
Have fun,

This might be useful then if you are in Canada, they also ship worldwide.

I like both, and am planning on purchasing the Terra Nova when it goes on clearance.

I have both the Carhartt and the Woolrich, wearing the Carhartt as I write. They usually enclose coupons with the shipments, and if you watch their emails, you can get some good discounts. Otherwise 6pm.com is usually less expensive.6pm also ships faster.photoguy207 wrote:These arrived today, they are amazing:

The largest size they do appears to be a 16. Whilst that would be large enough for me it appears that there are those on this site that would require larger! These are skirts that I would wear unhesitatingly.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

It may be an American size 16, which is a size 18 in the UK (correct me if I'm wrong!)Sinned wrote:The largest size they do appears to be a 16. Re: New skirts I found at Sierra Trading Post
The mountain hardware skirt is almost sold out on their site. The fabric that it is made from, is so comfortable I don't want to take it off. I am sure mountain hardware makes other skirts using the same material.
I have a size 16 and the length is 19 inches. Most of my skirts are 20, and I was worried that going shorter than that would be uncomfortable when sitting. That one inch makes so much difference and brings it to just the top of my knee. Looks and feels great!!
Most men have no idea what they are missing!!

Yes its unfortunate that whilst they look promising for "mens wear" size 16, or 18 in one case, seems to be the largest size offered. I might be ok in an 18 depending on how that converts to inches around the waist, but not in a 16.Sinned wrote:The largest size they do appears to be a 16. Re: New skirts I found at Sierra Trading Post
I went to a Joe's Crab shack the other day wearing the black Mountain Hardware La Strada skirt, nobody even gave me a second look. It was a warm sunny day and it was so comfortable to wear.
Looks like the large sizes are sold out on the website. I love it so much, would like to get the other colors.
I did read that they come out with this same skirt each year with a few modifications. Usually in late winter for spring. I will have to watch for it next year.

It's possible the larger sizes are sold out, or nearly sold out, because men are buying them.

Re: New skirts I found at Sierra Trading Post
I got in the khaki version of the la strada skirt yesterday in a size 14. The black one I have is a size 16 and I have been wearing it with a belt. This is the most comfortable skirt I have ever had on!
