"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

He's cheating! He only wears a kilt for part of each day.
Good effort, anyway!

Good article but the last paragraph shows that the 'author/writer' really
doesn't know what they're writing about. The guy owns 4 KILTS not
Tartans. Some kilts are made from tartan(plaid) material. Geeeesh
Yes, one can wear their Tartan(family/clan) colors in the form of a kilt,
a tie(shudder the thought), a cumberbund or even a jacket/coat.
Even I don't own 5 tartans, but I own 5 kilts - some made from tartan
material

I suspect very few,if any of us go skirted or kilted every waking hour.skirtyscot wrote:He's cheating! He only wears a kilt for part of each day.![]()

But every hour in public (and every news article) builds acceptance.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

I managed a whole week last year without a single pant. While sailing I only took a variety of skirts. Well it's a start!

I, too, have gone a few weeks without trousers, but that's in the past by a bit as I wear trousers to work nowadays. We shall see what summer -- if it ever arrives, that is -- brings with it.Big and Bashful wrote:I managed a whole week last year without a single pant. While sailing I only took a variety of skirts. I am looking forward to Summer, at least I have a waterproof skirt now for Scottish weather. Most days once I get home from work I change straight away into a skirt, as the weather is still cold at the moment I am using the heavy khaki 41" skirt from Style J. It is doing duty to give my Midas skirts a break. This one doesn't really go with the rain kilt because it is several inches longer, which would look a bit odd.

Re: Man with a Mission to wear a Kilt for a year
Perhaps I am in a minority, but I went from April 2012 to September 2013 only wearing skirts without ever wearing trousers or shorts.
Attendance for a family wedding forced me to wear trousers for a few hours, but I have been skirted ever since then which I put down to being extremely lucky in having a very tolerant employer who puts up with my sartorial choices.
I do hope there are others here who have managed similar length continuous skirt wearing?

Re: Man with a Mission to wear a Kilt for a year
^It's been over four years since the last time I wore a pair of long trousers. I do sometimes wear shorts, but, most of the time I'm either in a skirt or a Utilikilt. Wear the Utilikilt when I have to deal with my sister's ex. Used to wear the shorts, but, after I discovered that his current wife had become a Farcebook friend of mine under an alias, all bets were off.

Farcebook {snicker} is something I am just not willing to go near. LinkedIn is useful, but I rather like to keep a bit of a low profile. Of course, the skirts don't help with that.

My repartee about Face***k is: "I'm not on Facebook - and you shouldn't be either!".
Its interesting that Face***k represents the population at large percentage wise - except for one group who is much smaller there than in real life: Computer professionals of one type or another. We know better...
As for skirts - I think the last time I wore a pair of shorts was in 2011 for a brief period on a road trip when we were in some VERY backwoods/redneck areas. And that was for 2-3 hours at a time for 3 or 4 days. Haven't worn a pair of conventional long pants since about 2006 or so, although I regularly wear "Harem Pants" to dance classes.

Re: Man with a Mission to wear a Kilt for a year
Since 2002, I have worn trousers twice. Once in Morocco to avoir embarrasgsing my hosts when ôut walking kin their very conservative backwoods village, and once to take part in à session of Spanishfolklore, when I thought peuple might not approve of my foreign outfit (Scottish kilt).
Otherwise, kilts and skirts all the time except to go swimming. Being retired and independent makes my choice a lot easier of course, and when doing voluntary work, no-one has ever told me I ought to be in ieans like everyone else.

It's all about the confidence, building up trust with yourself, idk.. Can be a really healthy year tho (confidence is all about improving mental health).

Yup, wore them for when I was asked to testify in the divorce trial proceedings. Donated them to Goodwill the next day. I probably will have to get another pair for when I restart my job search, which hopefully will be soon.crfriend wrote: Congratulations.

With respect to farcebook, I probably wouldn't have joined, except for peer pressure. It's a bit of a time suck. Although, I have met a few people through it.
