I'm sorry to hear the news, Al, but I am sure that she was a happy cat under your roof.

Thanks for your kind words, Carl.
My eyes are a bit 'blurry' as I type this :(

Anybody that thinks that one's "companion animals" aren't a part of the family almost certainly has never had one. The saddest part, though, is that their life-spans are so much shorter than ours, and that puts a lot of grief into our lives as they, by nature, pass so quickly. However, the joy they bring us whilst they're "with us" makes it worthwhile.

So, grieve, it's the natural thing to do, and know that the she still lives on in your heart and memory as long as yours keeps going.

Uncle Al,

Sorry to hear of the untimely departure of your grey pus-pus. 10 years is short for a cat.

With our extensive menagerie the succession of departures of the cat/dog companions continues, but with no recent sad events. We do however have three collie cross siblings all of whom are 14 years old now and approaching decrepitude, but as Carl says, one must think of the good life they have had and the undoubted joy they gave us while they were here.

Sorry to hear about the loss. Wonderful creatures, cats are, though their shorter lifespan can be hard.

Sorry to see that, it's always hard losing a loved one, furry or otherwise. Wish I could check up on mine just now, but they are house-sitting while I am on a course nearly 400 miles away.

Clever puss-a-cats to be trusted to house-sit all home alone. 400 miles...That's got to be deep down in Sasannachshire! If my schoolboy geography serves me right, any other direction would have you running out of grouse shoot.

Miss Cassie was with us for 10 years(doesn't seem like it), but
her adoption papers(pet rescue/recovery) showed her to be about
1 1/2 to 2 years old when we got her.

She was a big 'lover' - by that meaning she would 'love' on you
where ever you were. She love to be a lap-cat :) and would
head-but you in the face :) when you weren't paying her any
attention :) I've tried to type on the keyboard and she would
put her paws on my hands or the keys to help me type. Thus
I would have to 'correct' her typing ;)

So sorry about your loss. They sure leave a hole in our lives when they depart.

Well extrapolated, Leamington Spa, no comments on my denim skirts at all, knee or ankle length. Wearing them in the evening, trousers to my course. It's a very intense course and I don't want any distractions for anyone on the course, so staying in "plain clothes".

Back to pets; My big boy cat, Rover loves to play with my long skirts, catching them from behind as I go downstairs (great with the two skirts with trains) and he likes to get under the skirts and stick his head out from the front between my legs when I am standing. My other one spends much more time on my knees when I have a skirt on, a much better platform I suppose.

Had a lovely black cat once. He used to sit on the gatepost waiting for me to come home each day.
Plucked.
Never seen again.
