New Skirt

I decided to treat myself this morning and brought a new denim skirt from the store peacocks. The skirt only cost £14 and is a lightweight denim skirt which comes to just above the knee. Been wearing it all the time since I got home and is now definitely my favorite skirt, and would recommend it to other male skirt wearers. Now just need to have the courage to venture outside wearing this skirt.

I like -- and wear -- plain denim skirts, but this one looks too tight round the knees. Can you climb on a chair wearing it? Could you run for a bus? If it makes you waddle rather than stride, then better not venture outside!

Pencil skirts seem rather a rather feminine garment to me so I won't be wearing one. I like to be able to stride and run and not walk just from the knees down. Sorry.

Unfortunately there seem to rather a lot of them in the shops these days. Most skirts are either too short for my liking or too straight. Even some that are sold as being A-line are virtually straight.

A nonsense skirt and totally impractical. It doesn't even look nice. As was said often enough. Blokes need to stride, not mince, hence pleats & flared designs to allow this.
Big pockets are essential too in my opinion. There's nothing worse than having to haul a BAG around.

Oh, bags aren't so bad, and properly sized/designed can be perfect for purpose.

Case in point -- this video of yours truly features a custom-built bag that Sapphire made for me, to my specifications, that holds pretty much everything I need in a nice little package. 'Tis a pity that it seems to dominate the video! The bag proper is hand-crocheted from household twine, the shoulder-strap came from the local hardware store, and the other bits and baubles from a hobby-shop nearby. I regard it as a full-blown win.

The vertically-oriented one shows the machine to best advantage and the tape-reels can actually be seen spinning as programs are loaded. This is one of the worlds I occupy when I'm off-hours from those who pay me money to do their bidding.

Mate, if you like it and it's comfortable then good for you. Is it as constrictive and tight at the hem as it looks?

As for wearing it outside, I agree with Caultron, just do it. You'll most likely be pleasantly surprised at the lack of critical interest from others.

Looking at the website, on the right hand side there's a black skater skirt which is very comfortable and non constrictive.

Crggrg, I agree with Hazy, if you like like the skirt and find it comfortable, wear it wherever you want.

When it comes to fashion, as with most things, there's no accounting for taste -- here or elsewhere.

If it is now definitely your favorite skirt, then it would be a good choice to wear outside. Don't let others dictate what kind of skirt to wear, but listen to their opinions. I agree with Couyalair, Sinned, et al. that pencil skirts are not right for me as I have a long stride. But if it works for you, great! The important thing is to be skirted and show the world one more piece of evidence that there is a skirting movement going on. Best wishes!
